****Gigabyte Osmium keyboard, Krypton mouse and Krypton pad review****

Great review. :)

I have that keyboard, and love it. Everything you say is correct, and yes it does weigh a ton!

Well I have limited room on my keyboard tray as an example, there is just enough room for my G11 and G5, if I had a cable poking out there it would get in the way of my mouse.

Heres how I have it when using headphones, route the cable around the back of the keyboard and its fine.

Yeah not really feeling that, seems more of a work around to route the headphone cable so its sorta under/around the keyboard.

It may not be a biggy to folk out there but I just had a quick check on my AKG K550 headphones, the cables on the left hand side... also checked my Audio technic A900 headphones and the cables on the left hand side as in its well thought out designed so the cables on the left, as in not in the way of anything or anyone.

When you sort of think about it the keyboard always has plenty of space on the left hand side cos well there is no ones hands or anything there, imagine trying to fit a usb pen drive or external hdd/device, mic and headphones..... I think that would get right in the way and be tedious tbh
if they put the usb port/mic/headphone on the left where there is nothing it would have been well engineered and some thought went into it.

Then again Im just being a picky mutha :p

That keyboard looks the business!

I'm looking for a new keyboard, and with this being Gigabyte, it will have decent customer support if anything should go wrong with it in the future - something that seems a more sensible option than Razer IMO.

I can update a bit about the mouse pad edge, it hasnt frayed or shown any signs of wear at all in 2 months use, I've been using the "speed" side.

The Keyboard and mouse are still working perfectly.

I've had the mouse and keyboard and there's 2 issues.

The keyboard randomly turns off/freezes, gigabyte know about this issue, they say return to vendor, vendor can't replicate problem and sends it back to me, I'm out postage and back at square one. (I've contacted gigabyte again)

The mouse scroll wheel broke last night after 3 months of use :( I'll return it hopefully without issue.

Issues aside, it's a really nice piece of kit...when it works.

This may of decided my new keyboard...

Thanks!

Good choice.

I've had no problems with my mouse or keyboard in the 2 months I've been using them and I would definitely recommend them. I've been meaning to get the pad as well just to complete the set but my old Razer Sphex is still in decent shape.

Is that from personal experience or are you just spouting rubbish?

The keyboard is built like a tank and the mouse is just as solid.

Have to agree, I've had the Osmium on my work PC since Gigabyte gave me one when the product was announced months ago, its being rock solid and feels extremely solid. Certainly feels like it could survive me going all keyboard warrior on its ass anyway. :D
