it is worth the extra tho will sabe a later upgrade

Why buy twice, she had the Ultra to start with before anyone chimed in.

She would only spend that cash on shoes and handbags that she would wear/use once anyhow so its well spent. :p

Spending 2k on a rig with only a 19" screen is madness

here we go
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t172/cupra-sport/2k1232.jpg[IMG]
True, £2k is somewhat pointless without a big screen but 8gb Ram is pretty needless as well given that 4gb is only just starting to be used on a few mainstream applications. The Nforce680 SLi motherboards are very expensive for what they do unless you actually want SLi and as far as I am aware the Wavemasters aren't great cases for cooling.

The specification itself will all work fine of course but I don't totally see the point in spending money just for the sake of it. :)

I don't see the point in buying a P35 chipset board and then buying an E6600? Surely the E6850 is the logical choice when it comes to performance per pound, performance, and e-peen for the lady?

With a Noctua you should be able to push the E6600 to E6850 speeds anyway couldnt you?

But then again, for the sake of 50 quid would it be worth it?

Thats probably what i'd go for... i would poss change cpu to e6600 or 6750 then oc it. Sound card might not be needed, but I would get one if I had the dough lol. Im also not 100% sure about this P35 stuff, but I chose the board that I thought sounded cooshdy. could oc the Ram as well.

EDIT: if you are keeping the 19" screen, then go for an 8800GTS 320 or 640 :)

Thats including everything.

Basically, you should be able to get a 24" Dell, a single GTX, a good P35 motherboard 2-4GB of fast RAM and a highly clockable e6600 for your 2k. No point in getting the quad core before the price cuts, and no point getting a quad core at all unless you can cool it sufficiently.

Get a good case, like something from Lian Li or Akasa and it will look the part too.

Why all the specs with top of the line CPUs? This is overclockers, not overspenders! :p :D

I wondering if I said I was a Lesbian Girl in my sig then I could beat this for views?.... hmmm *Stelly goes off to ponder*...

...*Stelly comes back*... after deliberating for a good... 2 minutes I have decided that the Lesbain girl thing is a bad idea as I would get hit on my every man in this forum... not worth it...
