Girlfriends, how many is too many ?

Love doesn't necessarily have to happen to have a girlfriend. In a relationship itself it can take many months before any feelings of love emerge. I dare say that some of my teenage relationships love was thought to be present but it was probably nothing of the sort. Some people fall in and out of love quickly. Not everyone is the same. Similarly some people a relationship of more than an hour is a lifetime.

Aye some nuts are tough to crack y'know :D

The French girls on the other hand, were not tough nuts I think it's fair to say, lol

You could have saved one for me :(

Can't believe you left just like that. Bitch.

You still up in Seven Sisters? I'm currently working in Enfield.

My advise is to live alone, and get a **** buddy. Much less hassle and you can enjoy yourself without the commitment and pretending to be interested in her. And you don't have to "change your ways" to suit her, leave the toilet seat down etc. Life's too short to waste time. Find what suits you and enjoy yourself.

I've had maybe 8 gf's of which 3 have been HMS Proper job.

Current one is doing me just fine and is the longest running yet :).....Maybe because she's just so damn hot :D

Well, I had four on the go at one time for a few months. Highly enjoyable but expensive and tiring.

I've had three reasonably long relationships and one of whom I married. If you factor in that I worked in a nightclub for ten years you could hazard a guess at the amount of short term girlies I had (most only lasted a few nights if not only one) and it makes my head spin to even try to count that up. Definitely into three figures there. ...... :D

Sometimes life is about more than sex. The value of companionship should not be underrated, yet often is.

I haven't had many relationships but boy they have been good.

Aye, do what I do - live with my mates and use random birds to get laid :p

Mates are far better than girlfriends for companionship, they want to talk about the same stuff as you do and don't get in a huff when you're wandering around town and looking at other girls :D

You have too many when you can't handle them and they begin finding out there is more than one.

Somebody didnt read the OP ;)

I dont think there is any magic number that defines "too many", its all down to the individual and the way they conduct their life.

I think it is. He's talking about getting in a serious relationship 14 times in 16 years. Unless of course your the sort of person that has a bunk up and thinks it's love, to me that seems a lot of times to be falling in and out of love in 16 years.

As he said for the purposes of the thread a bunk up isn't counted 14 serious relationships seems a lot to me.

I agree, 14 seems like a lot.

I'm 22 and I've had 2 serious relationships, both roughly 3 years, and I'm still with the 2nd.

Just 1, was with her for 7 years, im 24 now. Kinda sucks being single but it's awesome at the same time!

I did, I just had nothing mature to contribute to the thread so I thought i'd be immature :D

Ok, as mentioned originally the number over the years averages under one a year but of course they were not all uniform in the amout of time together or in the gaps between.

Exwife was 7 years, ex girlfriend was around 2.5 years and current wife is 1.5 years and hopefully be until my end especially as she is the mother of my first child born last month and I am now the stepfather of her 9 y/o.

That leaves 11 in the first 5 years so around 2 a year :D.

Yes these do not include temps filling in for short time .
