Gladiator II

Just watched this. It started out decent enough and then as the plot progressed the film became more and more stupid. The whole film was trying to cling on to the coat-tails of the first film.

A pretty rubbish film overall. Won't be watching it again. 4/10 at best.

Don't even get me started on the zombie baboons and shark naval battles.

I preferred Denzel's acting to Mecal's. He really didnt seem that bother throughout! Wasn't a huge fan of the 2nd. Didn't realise my other half hadn't seen the first one before we watched it, so watched the first the next day. Still holds up as a great film. Still remember going to the cinema to watch it with my parents! (I was 13)

I know where you're going with this, and I will die on the hill that says prometheus and covenant were not the worst things i watched that year.

Was thinking more about Napoleon actually but yeah his 2 alien movies were more than a bit ****. :p

You know, as much of a ridley scott fanboy as I can be, I completely forgot about that film. I think it's partially because when I had just gotten the desire to watch it, i had just come out of an advanced screening of folie à deux and would have been quite content never to have seen Joaquin Phoenix ever again. lol

i agree with 100%
but on a different note, i recently watched an actor on a podcast talking about the different stars hes worked with, and he had a very high opinion of Denzel. saying that in real life hes a really nice bloke and does a lot of work for charity, both unrecognised and off the record.

Completely agree, 4/10 is extremely generous.

Well that takes it of my 'perhaps ill give it awatch' list! !
I always thought it sounded crazy to have a follow up and how it would work
