Glasses, do you wear them?

Last opticians appointment my vision had actually improved, from a 1.75 in both eyes to 0.75! I was pleased, but still. Staring at a monitor all day can't be good for ya.

Ive worn glasses for 15 years and put that down to staring at the tv playing the NES and commodore 64 as a kid lol :)

I wear glasses and contacts as I'm slightly short sighted, its amazing how much difference there is, especially after you've been wearing them for a long time, if I don't wear them now my eyesight seems terrible.

I now wear contacts, but I've worn glasses since about 12. I hated them, which was why contacts were the way forward.

I wouldn't have thought that PC screens have had an input really, as I hardly used our computer at that age and now I'm using it more, my eyes haven't got any worse in years.

Not sure if it has already been said but setting your refresh rate as high as it will go is meant to help, also TFTs are meant to be better for your eyes that CRTs

I wear glasses and work in IT. I don’t think using computers everyday has fully contributed to the deterioration of my eyesight – as there is a family history of poor eyesight etc… but I do get headaches if I use a computer without my glasses on.

Over the years the dependency on glasses for me has gotten worse. Been wearing them full time for 10 years and wore them for many years when needed before this.

Recently been trying to get contacts working for me and its going well. The feeling of not having glasses on my face is nice, but if you need them you them… Eyesight does go and when it does, it needs to be corrected.

There is no shame in wearing them – in fact I’ve had girls say I look quite handsome wearing them, as long as you get a nice trendy pair then they are fine.

Had some a few years ago to correct poor long distance sight in one eye. Didn't like to wear them while driving, all the other cars looked to solid for my liking, i like crashing into fuzzy soft edged blobs.

Hi all,

Just a quick question, after years of using PC's im getting some major headaches come the end of the day, today for instance i have had 6 ibuprofen and im still struggling with a headache... whilst using the works pc..

I take it i need glasses... for the pc and reading etc,

how many of you guys have developed bad eyesight from using computers?

neal
I wear glasses - have done since 15 'cos of long sight and an astigmatism (eyes don't look in same direction LOL), since I started using PC's at work, my prescription has changed in that I have become more short sighted. My prescription changed every year for the first 3 years, has changed a couple of times since (old age) but has been settled for last couple of years - except I know have varifocals 'cos I must have been born with the eyes of an 80 year old:D

I have been sitting infront of PC's and TV's for as long as I can remember. The last eye test I went to found that my eyesight was above average.
