Go to work on an egg

Yeah, but who would eat just eggs because they saw an advert proclaiming an egg in the morning is good for you?

People/Animals have been eating eggs since the beginning of time, i do not think they are unhealthy. 100 eggs maybe, about as dangerous as 100 apples anyway.

I was being hilariously ironic, using the kind of view that bans adverts such as the 'Go to work on an egg' campaign.

That and the ******** declined my credit card application, so I hate eggs as they forced me to go with Capital one.

actually yea a massive amount of eggage could lead to protein poising, but i doubt anyone is gonna have that many.

first thing that happens if you have too many eggs is a rash breaks out, just stop eating eggs for a few days and its all good.

Apples don't contain large quantities of cholesterol.

This is like the earlier ruling that they're not allowed to advertise full fat milk or honey during children's TV, but diet coke, chicken nuggets and oven chips are okay...

Seems it it is a bit more complex than that:-

British Egg Information Service said:
In the past it was thought that people should limit the number of eggs they eat because they contain dietary cholesterol. But it is now known that saturates - in which eggs are relatively low - are more influential in raising blood cholesterol than dietary cholesterol itself.

A meta-analysis in 1997 of 224 studies on more than 8,000 subjects demonstrated conclusively that saturated fat, not dietary cholesterol, is the major contributor to high blood cholesterol levels in the general population.*

Recent research** from a large combined study of over 117,000 men and women in the United States has also shown that consuming up to one egg a day is unlikely to affect the risk of coronary heart disease in healthy men and women.

I seen this on Five news this morning. One of those 'run around the streets asking random people' reporters was speaking to a builder. She asked him 'could you go to work on an egg', he then replied 'No'. She then asked 'what do you go to work on then'........'My shoes' he said. :p

Thought it was pretty amusing, myself.

Eating an egg a day is not good for your cholesterol. My dad used to have a boiled egg every morning. He stopped when the doctor told him his cholesterol was getting too high. Hmm.

Well actually that is exactly what I used to have when I was a boy because of Tony Hancock and the 'Go To Work On A Lion' adverts.
Mummy used to do me a runny egg and soldiers but I hated peeling the shell off so mummy did that for me too.

being so retarded you do exactly what an advert says is not healthy.
Next they will ban the eggs, easy and good for you, because some retard cant cook and complains there not easy.

When was that, if you don't mind me asking? The nutritional properties of eggs has been a contentious issue for years, though current advice is that it's not a problem.

If you're worried try duck eggs as I've been told that they are lower in dietary cholesterol, and they taste nicer.

2 things, first why has the OP decided this is a pc issue?! it is not but i guess that is the GD buzzword these days anyway and second its recommended your weekly intake of eggs is no more than 3 due to the high cholesterol content of the yokes...there are 5 working days in the week so you do the maths. and while im typing this a third thing......its an old advert thats not going to be run anymore, boo hoo! its going to be completely forgotten about by friday.

About 10-15 years ago, so that probably fits with what you say.

On the BBC news this morning, some woman was saying the cholesterol in an egg is different from the blood cholesterol we have; the two are not related or something.

I don't eat many boiled eggs anyway.

also it's going to be bad if it fried, or eaten on butter rich toast. boil it and there perfectly healthy.

I'm not entirely sure, but there two main types of choloestral, one blocks the artery's, the other is very healthy and helps your body.
