Hey all,

Watching LOST again and trying to rack my brain around it still. And before everyone starts chiming in saying "they were all dead all along", that's rubbish and no they weren't.. haha.

Anyways, I'm reading this, but realise it's really just a detailed fan theory. Just wondering, is there an official "this is what happened" article on the story in LOST?

i quite like that theory - and no, there is no official explanation.

Yeah I like it a lot too, and I agree with most of the points. Some times he's clutching at straws a bit, but it sure beats my girlfriend saying "they were just dead all along!".

I started watching lost again as when I watched it almost 10 years ago I watched it on a 19 inch crt with crappy headphones. I didn't even watch s3 and 4 properly. Now I have the bluray and projector its been alright. I'm midway in s2 now. I just watched that ep where hurly sees Libby in the mental hospital. Makes you think the whole thing is in his head.

Didn't one of the writers admit quite recently that they made it up as they went along? That would explain why it doesn't make huge amounts of sense...

I gave up mid way through season 4 because I realised I found it more frustrating than enjoyable.

LOST divided lots of people I know - some very polarised opinions about it. I really enjoyed it and liked that there were questions left unanswered (deliberately or not). I'll have a gander at Lostopedia as it's been years since a read any theories about the show. That's another aspect I liked - it left enough open for different interpretations.

It was a beautifully shot programme and had some brilliant characters and actors... Kate used to give me such a tent pole.

Probably my favourite show of all time. Started watching S1 again recently and really enjoying it.

Yes it is full of plot holes/silly ideas but I invested so much time into it as a youngster frequently reading lostpedia forums for hours after a new episode had just aired.

I thought it was meant to me a case of they're alive and/or in limbo, could be considered both. Sort of like Schroedinger's cat scenario, but people on an island.

Or they were alive the whole time and the end they died.

Either way, the show was way overrated and frankly quite embarrassingly rubbish at times.

Rewatching Lost with my girlfriend currently (she's never seen it).

Even if (IMO) the ending is absolutely terrible and almost ruined the whole series for me the show on the most part is great, one of my all time favourites.

I still do not see the hate of the finale - enjoyed it from first minute until the last.
But people do get upset when it's "not the end I wanted".

Yeah, I absolutely loved it. The conversation between Jack and his Dad *sniff, sniff*

I think somewhere between s3-4 they didn't know how many more seasons they were going to get to wrap it up, so they had to pad a bit. It is a bit noticeable, but hey. Wasn't that the writers strike too?

Kate used to give me such a tent pole.
lol :D

I just think (for me) the show was built up to ultimately be something it wasn't. I'm not angry we didn't get all the answers.

I just think the whole lovey dovey "We need to pass onto to the afterlife (or what ever comes after the afterlife they were in in s6) together" was just a bit contrived.

It's not that the final season was terrible TV it's just it could have been a hell of a lot more.
