Before i do some internet research i thought id ask the squad/fam if they found any little gems to visit whilst there.

we are staying in the Dancing Hotel that weird twisty building, looks cool.

Mrs Efour wants to go to the zoo so i said only if we can go to a gun range. Maybe combine the 2?

Any suggestions.... nice restaurants? Places to avoid !

Years ago our Air BnB host told us to go to a restaurant called the Apocalyptic Pig which was quite fun. Was a sort of themed (but not Disney-fied) place, go down to a basement, through a velvet curtain and into a dungeon sort of place. Get traditional food, of which the main part I can remember was the bread with lard :p Probably goulash and slow cooked pork etc.

I wouldn’t traipse across town for it but it was round the corner for us, so worth it for a laugh. Lots of great beer actually, like dark pilsner etc.

We went here on a stag do and enjoyed it. Got to shoot a dragunov sniper too

Also going for 4 nights in December, tuning into this thread.

Looking at doing a day trip to that skull Church place. Will do the xmas markets also and the sightseeing bus.

There are (were last time I went) regular trains to kutna hora, and the church is about 10-15 minutes walk from the station. It is well worth a visit.

The skull Church is in kutna hora, and its around an hour by train from Prague.

The observatory (petrin tower) has good views over Prague on clear days.

Just plan for a lot of walking: it's a nice city for an aimless meandering walk.

Sedlec Ossuary

It's around an hour from Prague via public transport, in the suburb of Sedlec (Kutna Hora). It is small but worth visiting and there are other interesting sights in Kutna Hora too, such as St Barbara's church and its impressive architecture.

If history is an interest, Terezin is within reach. Generally, I'd say 5 days is quite a lot for Prague. It has a beautiful centre ideal for wandering but I would recommend factoring in a trip of some sorts to the hinterlands. Personally, I would combine it with a visit to somewhere like Karlovy Vary, but that may be too far for you to consider.

General things:
  • Prague castle
  • Evening/dinner cruise on the Vltava

It will be cold in December so dress well. You might enjoy the Sex Machines Museum and Museum of Torture and Torture Instruments.

A guide worth looking at:

Prague is probably my favourite European city to visit. I could just walk round admiring the architecture and I'm not really into architecture! Beer is great, food is plentiful and cheap. Stunning in both winter and summer! People have always seemed friendly as well.
