Anyone know if you have already been to uni for a degree and got student finance, can you go back and complete another degree with another student loan or do you have to fund it yourself?

JUst asking as I'm seriously considering going back as I'm stuck in a dead end IT job at the moment and would rather do something to do with music etc that i'm interested in! My Psychology degree has got me sweet fa!

Not if you did a 3-4 year programme. If it was 3 years you might get first year finance, but after that you'd have to look elsewhere.

The only qualifications that I have are GCSEs and even then they are pretty abysmal but I will be starting university studying foundation science next week :D

I decided in June(ish) that I have to get my ass in gear. I was fed up with being in a dead end job with no prospects and a bleak future so I looked into uni and within a month or so I had an interview and got an unconditional placement.

I'm really excited as well as starting to get a little nervous.

Im in the same possition as you mate, Looking to do some form of Engineering Studies.

My qualifications are very basic. How cant you save on 17k you must have considerable debt im on 10k and can save a decent amount each month.

Will be intrested to see how you get on

Just as I thought. Can still go and do a year course though with it I guess.

Just really don't want to be doing this job on the turd wage im on for any time longer, really soul destroying stuff. But then I don't know if I can afford to scrap my job off as I have £200 rent a month to pay and a £150 loan to factor in per month.

Dunno what to do at all!

As opposed to doing a "skilled" job for turd wages? :p I'd rather be in your position, job-wise that is. I quite happily worked in a warehouse repeatedly stacking and sorting boxes, and would do so again. For £9.20 an hour it was worth my time.

I have, admittedly been fathing around the last several years with money with the mindset that this was it, this was my life and just got used to binge drinking every weekend and spending tons of fuel thanks to riding my bike every weekend and to commute to work on...

But now I know I might have now until September next year to save... thats 1 year saving, so whos to say I cant save 5k as a fall back? I am going to town after work tonight to buy a couple of books about business economics and stock brokers.... To get a insight to see if its something that interests me :)

My first real investment into my future :D

Exciting :D

I know that... it's just they use some crazy scattergun approach, and say anything from "be a banker! :D" to "be a vet! :D" to "be an artist! :D"... etc. If they guess enough times, in enough sectors, of course they're gonna be "right" sometimes :\.

Yea, I too noticed that, though I think it's more to do with the way you like to work, most of those would come under the blanket of "you like to work alone or with a small handfull of people" which makes all the jobs, regardless of how randomly they're related, more appealing to certain people
