I've just realised that I've got no idea what people think of this film, and would love to.

I watched it again earlier and was at a loss for how good I thought it was. I haven't seen it in years, and had never really appreciated it fully, I just wish that I could watch it for the first time again and appreciate the bit
where James meets Janus for the helicopter
.

Also, the bit after James and Natalya get interrogated by Mishkin, and the sequence that follows, how it's absolutely vital that they escape the building. And speaking of Natalya, damn. ;) Her along with Xenia (I've always had a thing for Famke Janssen, and she's just ridiculously hot in this film) make it a very enjoyable movie to look out.

The 355/DB5 chase at the beginning is awesome, even though the Ferrari would annihilate the Aston, there's something so satisfying about watching the duel.

I think my huge interest, verging on obsession with the USSR and the Cold War definitely aided in my enjoyment of the film, but even so, I honestly think this is one of the best Bond movies ever made. If only it had the car chase from Tomorrow Never Dies in it, then it would be the best. ;)

What do you all think of it?

Dam bungee jump scene and the chemical facility part are pretty awesome.

Coltrane is also great as a russian gangster.

All in all one of my favourite Bond films, definitely up there with the best and easily Brosnan's best.

I've been rewatching all of the bond films recently, with one being on each Sunday and ITV2 showing most of the more recent films at nights.

It's probably the first time I've watched them all in succession since I was a kid and can appreciate them much better.

I know everyone always says that Connery is the best Bond, but he wasn't the Bond I grew up with, it was Moore that I always saw as Bond and enjoyed watching his films. Having re-watched them all lately, they are so over the top and cliched!

Never thought much of Timothy Dalton as Bond.

Brosnan's films I used to really like, but it's only having watched them all recently that I realized that Goldeneye was the only good one he did, it just got stupid by the time they got to Die Another Day. That said though, I've got agree that Goldeneye is without a doubt one of the best Bond films there is.

Craig has been refreshing because he works as a much more realistic Bond, in comparison now to Moore, it's worlds apart.

Brilliant film, definately one of the top 5 bond films.

My other favourite brosnan bond film is The World is Not Enough.

"I thought Christmas only came once a year!" - priceless !

The tank chase scene always cracks me up. :D

This. :D Definitely one of my favourite bond films.

Not sure what they were thinking when they made Die Another Day, but I think Brosnan was certainly one of the best Bonds we've had. Will happily sit down to watch GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies and The World Is Not Enough any day.

N64 baby!

also this

Best bond film evar! Sharpe, Cracker, Jean Grey in one film. What more could you want? Amazing car chase and a pretty damn good story.

?

Goldeneye is the only good Pierce Brosnan Bond film, all the others are complete twaddle

Favourite Bond film (closely followed by The Man with the Golden Gun).

The game on the N64 was quality too, far too many wasted days :p

I thought Casino Royale was a good opening gambit to kickstart the series but with Quantum of Solace (QoS) I think they rather blew it already and that's ignoring the problems with rights etc that are preventing more being made. QoS was a lot of nothing really, the worst title ever for a Bond film, the storyline read as if they just wanted to extend Casino Royale and at that point it should have been moving back to a rather more urbane Bond but if anything he got more agricultural.

Goldeneye is easily the best Brosnan film and great watching it at the cinema when it came out, after that it went rather downhill for him. It's not the best Bond film though, without thinking about it too hard I'd probably go with Diamonds Are Forever - fantastic theme song, reasonable storyline, great names, good villains - it's really the whole package.

By far and away my favourite bond film, and i think the most recognisable to. I am looking at the titles and box art to brosnans next 3 films and i cant remember what happens in which of them, despite seeing them recently. Just about sums up how memorable they are.
