Golf R32

Consider that the R32 is I am afraid nothing like the CSL, or even a regular M3.. It's perhaps more similar to a 330Ci Clubsport.

sigh, i wasnt talking about performance figures, i was talking availability.

i suppose you want a 5 door one to ? :p

the mk5 is nice. but its not really the same calibre as the mk4. its too soft*

(*this is the opinion of owners of both the mk4 and mk5 that have driven both)

Get out :D

That's fair enough but I'm sure they're both equally as awesome. I prefer the design of the MK5 anyway. If I were buying 2nd hand I'd definitely try out both though.

i had 24mpg today average, full tank of v-power, including 2 hours of live mapping got me from preston, to daventry and back and the light just came on as i got off the m6 at junction 29.

gotta say, if you want something a bit less common, r32 it is.

That's about the same as I get on a combined cycle from the 330CI, provided I don't keep booting it every chance get.

Interesting to make the choice though, as you can get MK5 GTi's for the same price as a MK4 R32...but ones a hot hatch, ones more a 'premium hatch' really.

Wow, yeah. Lovely car..but heard it's an absolute beast to handle..?

Like JC said in the GTA vs R32 vs FRS test on TG, you'd have to be nuts to buy one. And I agree.

18mpg (I can get it to consistently show <5). Crap dealers. Expensive to run. Depriciate like stones (mine went from £30k to 15k in 2 years). Parts can be hard to get hold of - mines been off the road for 6 weeks (long story) and others have been off the road for a month waiting for parts from Alfa.
Unless you own a tyre company, you'd never turn TC off (Although I'm currently having a LSD fitted which will help). Build quality is very good, but not to VW standards.

Its a car you buy with your heart, not your head - You need to really want one to buy it over its competitors (like the R32). However, as Autocar said "To look at, to sit in, and to listen to, it lords over its natural rivals".

I love mine - its a gorgeous car to look at, and that engine is just ... aural sex. But you'd have more fun in something like an R32 on a challenging road.

your R32 just stands out so well... *Dribbles again* lol

I haven't been to many meets, but trying to find people i know or vaguely know that want to convoy to some :p

Guessing you know who must have the third blue R32 in preston then with grey wheels if you were out all day!

53 plate, blue with grey wheels and owners club sticker, parked at Morrisons at lunch time today.

Three identical ones in the same city, common as muck :p

i know, thats steves his missus drives it to work (morrisons).

:D, common, not for long though ;)

And about edition38, we are trying to get a stand sorted, but if not me and one of the triplets will be on revo's stand.

I love these cars and would like to move from a Revo'd Leon Cupra to one. 330ci is also on the list..

But timing isn't right at the moment :(
