the i7-3930K does guzzle electricty when overclocked: a hideous 525W under load. In comparison, the i7-990X drew just 423W when overclocked. This is due to the much higher voltages that the Sandy Bridge E chips require when running overclocked.
CPU isnt the only benefit of the X79 platform though. Im jelly....
Well you're going to be pretty disappointed then. The CPU does not fit on that motherboard.
Make sure you have a CPU cooler for the 2011 socket, the 2011 CPUs don't come with a CPU cooler even the retail box version.
