If you have samsung TV's you should grab plex and the plex app for samsung, or PSMS. Takes away all the worry about codecs.
Samsungs are quite particular about the codec. Mkv is your best bet for full compatibility.

Hi
Ive tried to do the bios upgrade, but keeps coming up with Invalid system disk, yes I have the USB on priority 1 of the boot order.
ive looked at the following websites which goes through the procedure and these have been followed correctly.
I think it may be down to the usb key im using anyone else having the same issues

Mine is a N54L im assuming that the bios is the same for all the microserver range.
Many thanks
Use rufus (http://rufus.akeo.ie/) and select the bootable FreeDOS option.Im using a Lexar 64gb usb stick, when formatting it using the HPQUSB.exe program im getting a syslinux error message saying it has stopped responding. Im using win7 home premier edition. do we no what could be causing the error, as using windows 7 on the n54l box. also do we have a list of known working usb keys that flashes the bios without any issues.
Have also downloaded the latest modified bios version from http://www.hardwareluxx.de/communit...n54l-microserver-752079-430.html#post21503128 rather than the old links above.
many thanks
hello folks, ive got an idea but im not quite sure how to implement it.
ive moved over to an android phone and want to utilise dropbox (or similar) to backup my photos to my server.
i can install dropbox as a service on the server which is fine but the thing im looking to do is get my server to copy the images from the dropbox folder when it detects new photos and after its done delete them from dropbox folder. therefore pretty much giving me unlimited space.
accessing these files isnt an issue as i use crashplan so can view the images on my phone
Hehehehe^^ Wha?! Oh right nevermind![]()

I had this. I think its the codec used for the file you want to see. I had loads of video files on the server and my sammy tv couldn't see one of them but could the rest so I figured it was down to codec in some way

Very weird. I use Plex on Xpenology and all my video files are mkv. Never had an issue.
