If it didnt support quad he wouldnt have suggested it..

Why dont you get 4gb Ram? There are very few problems with 64-bit these days and you are spending so much money and getting 2gb :confused:

If you want SLI why not get 2 x 8800 GTS? instead of one GTX?

probably will get asus because i want wifi, do they both support ddr3?
i dont need 4gb ram and i want 32bit because some apps dont support 64bit and there are incompatibility issues.

most programs work perfectly fine in 64 bit windows.

So have you actually searched and researched the apps your planning on running as i installed Vista months ago and yes their were loads of compatibility issues then and I've recently installed it again and most of my things now works perfectly. DDR2 RAM is so cheap and especially the amount of money your spending you really should get 4GB RAM.

yes but i do not need 4gb ram, ok maybe, can you suggest me any? what about 2x2gb modules? any good they are? and i will need a wireless n pci card just in case i wil need to use the pc anywhere else in the house which may be not near the modem and wireless access point.
i will probably take this motherbord and have xp home and premium 32 bit because in future i want to have all apps perfectly working with 32 bit, i just read this:

and made me think a bit and did some researching.
drivers bit is worrying me too.
i dont really care anyway, doesen't make a difference to me.

Anyway, i think 32 bit supports 4gb, BUT it dosnt use it in the same way 4gb would be used on a 64 bit OS, it alocates anything over 2gb as kernal orsomething odd....basically it can only use 2gb of RAM for applications so any more than this isnt used effectively.

Where as 64bit can handle up too 128gb of RAM, which will do you fine for a while

Vista 64 supports both 64bit and 32bit applications, its just the rare 16bit programs that are occasionally used on 32bit OS that it cant handle.

Going for a DDR2 & DDR3 cheap mb is a good idea for future proofing aslong as your not paying too much for the add on.

You dont neeeed fast RAM, it will make no difference to the speed of the system at all, unless you plan to overclock.

The speed of the FSB on the processor is 1066/2 = 533/2 = 266.5mhz
Where as the FSB of the RAM you selected is 533mhz roughly double the FSB of your processor.... a complete waste unless your overclocking.

The RAM were advising you to buy runs at 667MHz thats a FSB of 333.5mhz, still higher than your processor, but cheaper and with faster timings, and if you actually wanted to overclock that ram is also capable of 1000mhz+ speed too.

What is the point in asking for further advice when you have repeatedly been given specific guidance on which memory to buy.
You have also received general advice on the dubious merit of buying the Ram which you seem to have your heart set on.

I'd recommend you buy the PC2-8500 since it is what you want even though it will basically be a waste of money.
