Good sci-fi series?

I agree wholeheartedly on the Babylon 5 point !

Its easily one of the best sci-fi series I have seen on tv ever. The first series is a bit iffy, but after that its simply a superb piece of epic story telling. The shadow war period is amongst my favourite storylines of any genre of tv.

Its amazing that its only once you have watched it all that you look back at some of the earlier episodes and say "oh yeah ! I see now!" , its then that it dawns on you just how well written and planned out the story was.

Masterful sci-fi story telling. Its not the best sfx, its not the best acting, but its by far one of the best continuous sci-fi tv storylines I've ever seen.

Such as in the pilot episode when Kosh first greets who he thinks is Sinclair and says "Entilzha Valen"

Indeed, its just goes to show that they planned it out so well that they knew exactly where the storyline was going several years in advance. Remarkable when you compare it to some of the more recent shows where it almost seems like they are making the story up week after week and just trying to plug holes and work out what the hell to do next. (yes..I am looking at you Lost and Heroes)

Terminator - The Sarah Connor Chronicles!

Which has been binned by Fox :(

It goes off the boil quite badly but then picks up nicely. And I don't care if she could tear me limb from limb and was made of metal - I still would (many times too!)

I've never watched any of the Stargate series but seeing Robert Carlyle is in it I'm tempted to give it a go.

Those who haven't watched Babylon 5 will constantly recommend Battlestar Galactica, those who know will always herald B5 as some of the greatest sci-fi of all time. I'm a massive BSG fan as well, but just doesn't have the same heart, impact and epicness of B5 i'm afraid.

Disagree, i was a avid watcher of B5 and i loved it to bits (i always thought the season 3 credits were the best by the way). And it was a milestone in good sci-fi, it was the first one to have a proper story arc

But BSG took everything and cranked it to 11. BSG is near perfection, if it wasn't for a drop in quaility in the second half of season 3 then it would not only be the best sci-fi show of all time. But the best show, ever! period!

BSG, BAB 5, Star Trek, Farscape, Dr Who, Hitch Hikers guide to the galaxy TV series & radio Series (Radio Version=best), Torchwood, Terminator The Sarah Connor chronicles, Red Dwarf!!!!!!

B5, BSG (just finished watching all of this, including the 'webisodes' for total completion and it's a great show. I was worried that they'd mess up the ending but it was very satisfying. Hope more old shows get remade... Buck Rogers maybe! :D), and as sqiffy says, Red Dwarf for some comic relief.
