Good way to clean an O2 sensor?

Hey all

I'm removing my Decats and putting the stock Downpipe and cats back on my MPS.
Various reasons why...

I will be taking the O2 sensors off to do this so thought I may as well clean them...

What's the best way of going about this?

I don't want to damage them, £250 for a new sensor is something I do not want to deal with

Is this for a special MOT?
Nope. To be honest, I'm fed up of the smell it chucks out, the smog it throws out on WOT and the poor fuel economy.
All things I've had since going catless.
Plus the environmental impact.

My MPS isn't mapped for big power, so I don't actually need a 3" catless DP.

Then don't bother trying to clean them

The bit that actually needs cleaning is inside the casing, so the only thing you can try and do is soak it in something e.g. petrol, but if there isn't actually anything wrong and you can't afford a replacement, don't do anything.

My Giulietta threw a P0187 code when giving it full throttle, slow bank 1 02 sensor. Been a dirty diesel I decided to buy a £6 removal tool and have a look to see if it was blocked.

The 02 sensor was black and totally clogged up.

Bought some catalic converter cleaner and some petrol in a tub. left it to soak overnight and it came up like new. Popped the rest in the tank.

100% fixed it. Only saved £50 but I enjoy doing stuff cheap :)

Massive amount of Google hits say it can't be cleaned, mine worked.

You put petrol in your diesel?

I'm getting poor economy. Which the O2 sensor could be the major factor in.

Nothing to do with the map, the exhaust being butchered or any other poor mods?

Nope must be a O2 sensor (despite them normally either working or not working, not some kind of intermittent state)?

I thought you'd learnt after the previous diesel mps wannabe, but seems like you are just out to wreck whatever you buy.
