Those comments made me smile which is something I have not done much today so thanks
Thank you for all your comments, it does help.
Deep down, even though you have been assured by the Vets themselves you have done the right thing, it still hurts like hell when you realise it was your decision and your decision alone which allowed them to die, even if you have relieved them of any discomfort knowing they had little quality of life.
Thats the thing with animals I guess, they can not tell you and you have to make those decisions yourself on their behalf and you never can know for sure how they feel.
I did read Penski's comment but did not have the energy to reply. I am glad I didn't now as it was just very sad and troll like.
I felt the same when we had to have our cat put to sleep, we'd had her since i was about 1, and she lived upto me being nearly 18...so i'd had her all my life
Couple of months later though we went and got 2 new cats from a shelter, that had been abandoned, just felt wrong not having a kitty around
