Goodbye M, hello AMG

They have a Mr Men Character who appears to be modelled on you

You're worse than fox sometimes.

Ouch.

Ok, but I was only trying to understand what Alex was talking about. Now I do.

Goodbye 8400rpm redline, hello 6500rpm redline :(

Goodbye 300 lb/ft, hello 516 lb/ft :)

but but but but, *opens cans of worms*, how is more torque at lower rpm gonna be more fun ?

thats like saying diesels are more fun ;)

your way of thinking would have you smiling driving a tractor, hello 1000rpm redline :( hello 5000 lb/ft :D :D

Nice, good choice of colour too.

was actually going for the standard silver in preference, but this had a good combination of options (harmon kardon stereo, massage front seats, sunroof, 7 seats etc.) and in decent condition at the right price

its something silly like at least 450 lb/ft between 1000rpm to the redline!
either way its 469bhp, so you cant fudge that figure! apparently its more like 490bhp as per the SL55, but they didnt want it to seem exactly the same power for twice the money (with some extra weight in the SL too!), its only the exhaust thats a little bit different between the two.

Wow I didn't realise that the M3 only had 300lb/ft.

Which at the end of the day does not really matter in an M3. You plant your foot and you change your gears.

Never really been a fan of the front end of these but otherwise looks tidy and sounds like the engine will be a giggle :) Enjoy!

i would love to see a big estate like that being given the beans on the road one day. you must see the sight of the massive estate tearing off down the road and it must seem to needless for an estate to get down the road as fast or faster than most sports cars. love it!

I found it very unusual. I instinctively went for the non existant clutch to get myself out of trouble which, er, didn't go too well...

Mercs are wafters, not blasters, ime.

Makes sense mate, I clocked up 60K miles in my RS4 and realised this is the longest I have ever owned a car, just over 2 years so need to get shot really. I need something that I can munch miles in and also ideally something I can tow with too so may look at a big Merc, Bimmer or Audi or even something like an X5/Cayene/RR Sport for a change and tow duties and then obviously something interesting for the weekend.

awesome car, useful to have full spec including the dicky seats :)
guess there wasn't any point in having an M5 touring again
did you consider an S6 Avant or are those too boring? although they're still £25k+

X6!

AMG's what?

You're fired from grammar nazi duties, pack up your desk and get out.

Using an apostrophe to indicate a plural is acceptable when you're talking about an abbreviation if clarification calls for it. Other acceptable forms would be A.M.G.s, AMGs or just AMGs (considering most will know what AMG is so clarification might not be necessary in the context of the conversation).

Anyway, car looks awesome - any more pictures from the ad?
