Google Chrome

Facebook is working perfectly fine here for me, but more people seem to have trouble with it?

Also, how do I bring up the built-in task manager?

Cheers,

Suman
Some of the ajax isn't working. Like trying on a 'comment' option. Normal it would open up a new comment box for you, but with Chrome nout happens...

Scrolling is poor, not smooth like in FF (with smoothwheel) or IE by default. Scrolling in Safari (Windows) is equally poor so I wonder if Chrome's will ever be improved.

I find it to have better scrolling that Firefox or IE. One of the main reasons I could never switch from Opera to Firefox was because of poor scrolling. Not sure what the problem is with Chrome but I find it to be very smooth.

I cant seem to scroll the page by dragging with middle mouse, and the new tab page needs more than 9 boxes if your screen is bigger. A customisable number would be nice.
Other than that, some nice features and more screen area for the page feels good. The smart status bar and lack of toolbars is welcome.

The extra processes that open when you open more tabs annoys me even though comparing it to Firefox on the same websites it uses less ram. Kinda like the design though and looks very nice with Aero.
It doesn't spawn a new process for each tab. It spawns a new process for each domain...

It should be taken into consideration that this is a first release and is BETA.

ps - F5 = refresh.

Yeah I know F5 = refresh :p

Every now and then I tend to right click refresh when I can't be arsed to reach over to my keyboard or whatever.

Did you guys know it has a real time HTML editor built in ?

Mmmm I've encountered an odd problem, either that or I'm being particularly stupid today. I normally have my task bar set to 'auto hide', so it slides out of view when not being used. Normally I just move the mouse to the bottom of the screen and this causes it to slide back into view. However if I have chrome maximised then the task bar refuses to reappear. Can anyone else verify this issue? Should add I'm running vista business 32 and have a two monitor setup.

i can confirm that your problem is a real one. However i don't normally have my task bar like that so I'm still happy with chrome

Reiterating my love for this browser. It loads pages much faster than Firefox 3.0. The tabs are a pleasure to use, and I actually really like how when you make a new tab, it shows you your most visited websites, plus a list of recent bookmarks - at first I was a bit wary of the lack of a bookmarks drop down list, but making a new tab only to be shown a list of recent bookmarks to click on it, is a terrific and very clever design decision. It's the little things like that, that really makes me appreciate this browser.

I don't care about the technical side of things - I'm not a programmer or web designer - I'm just a simple internet user who wants to surf the web. And that applies to 99% of Chrome users. For them, this browser is brilliant in every way.

It doesn't. See my screenshot earlier in the thread...

Just tested myself again and it only seems to create about 17 chrome.exe processes even though I had at least 30 pages open. However, if I close one of those processes it doesn't seem to close multiple tabs somehow, it just closes one tab and re-creates that chrome.exe process if needed

Yep, some Ajax definitely seems broken.
