Google Lights OUT

Damm earth hour:(

My Girlfriend wanted to do it so she came in and turned the TV and the rest of the power of During Top gear:eek:

I was not pleased:(
 
All this stuff about energy saving is getting me to turn off my second monitor thinking its going to help save evergy but is it really?

Im in 2 minds about it all.

Either, The energy will be prduced anyway and will just be going somewhere else.

Or the Powerplants Production will drop a bit when all the power went out and saved some energy.

Either way its a bloody wist of time because nothing we can do will have any impact at all really unless China and India decide they dont want to burn **** loads of coal and energy and fill the world with smoke:p

I was thinking about getting into the car and taking it for a belt just to spite the environmental energy savers:p

I for one welcome our omnipresent Google overlords.

It won't solve the worlds energy problems (there is an abundant source of non-polluting energy - Helium3 - just 384,403 km away) but at least it helps raise the proper issue. That issue is not claptrap like Climate Change but rather the real problem of the increasing demand for energy.
 
Well it's a good idea to appeal to the people on the internet about turing thing's off (like computer's) but then again it I don't need to do this, as all the thing's I use around the house are turned off after use and I recycle everything I know that I can recycle. But some people don't do this sort of thing so its opening the window on how serious it really is. I saw on the news that australia turned some of there lights out like the opera house. Cool. Though I don't think I can stay away from the forum's :D
 
couldnt be bothered reading all the posts but i am sure there is a version of google that is constantly on a black background to help save energy. I prob would have got the link from this forum :p
 
As soon as I see incontrovertable evidence that human activity is causing global warming and endangering the planet, I will take action to curb my energy use - Until then, I will assume that this is a clever (and very successful) ruse by governments and business people to squeeze more money from the pockets of the gullible.

Switching off lights and stuff is a splendid idea - to save money.
 
Wow, Earth Hour really paid off. Dublin apparently had a 1.5% reduction in energy usage between 8 and 9.

Now think of all the energy was wasted by people running around screaming Google's Broken...
