Just run Spybot but not found anything.

Basically, google searches will direct me to other links, not the ones shown, cant seem to find anything on it though?

Help appreciated!

Run scans with the programs listed here, probably best to do them in safe mode: http://tchan4.com/blog/2008/09/05/b...re-malware-trojan-etc-applications-2008-2009/

Also open up your hosts file by going to Start > Run and entering "notepad C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts" - the only entry should be 127.0.0.1 localhost (::1 localhost as well if you're on Vista) along with some Microsoft comments starting with # - if there are a load of other entries in there delete them.

hmm strange, try it in safe mode and make sure system restore is switched off and it should do it. Worked for me twice now

Change your DNS settings, e.g. (if you're on XP) Network Connections -> LAN (or Wireless) -> TCP/IP -> Set DNS to obtain automatically

This fixed it for my friend, horrible virus/spyware/whatever it is

I had a really bad browser trojan the other week that took me ages to track down and kill.
I knew what the little bugger was but I couldn't kill it even in safe mode.
I was just about to install the hard drive into another machine and delete the file from there when somebody suggested the free Process Explorer and that was able to kill the process so I could go to System32 and delete the file.
Download this - Starter and run the Starter programme first.
Look for anything that shouldn't be running and you can even do a right click and search for it.
Then run procexp.exe (its in the same starter directory) and see if you can kill the process and then delete the file.

Unless it is spyware related the only other time I've seen something similar is when using a proxy server to get access to the internet and the proxy server gone bad. Rebooting the proxy server and setting the proxy version within the browser to 1.0 fixed the problem.

it'll be the vundo or whatever it's called virus, combofix takes care of it

but it's worth running everything, if someone's been daft enough to install that, they've probably installed other crap too
