Google Music

Why would they release a desktop app?

They're all about the cloud.

What does the music being in the cloud have to do with anything? There are many cloud services with desktop apps (Spotify included). Are you thinking cloud means something different?

I have to say it again I love this. I never got on with Spotify to be honest & I really hated the desktop application if i'm honest :p

I think I will be paying for this!

Does anyone know how to remove Google Music from syncing songs on my phone itself? I'd like to try and explore the app without it syncing all the songs on my SD card.

I'm not overly bothered about the lack of a desktop app, as it all works nicely through a browser. However I really need to stop closing my browser when I finish browsing, forgetting its busy playing my music!

Just started using the all access in the last few days, and I'm very impressed. :D

There were a few albums that I couldn't find on it that are on spotify (foo fighters - there is nothing left to lose isn't on there, strange!) but overall the music choice is pretty good.

The radio feature, however... It blows Spotify's radio out of the water

Small things like when starting radio based on a song or album, it'll start the radio with the song or a song fro the album the radio is based on. And of course being able to actually see what is coming up, re-arrange the queue, remove songs, etc. Awesome.

And of course the music it chooses is very, very good.

Was already unchecked mate

Clear data for the app, when you re-open it just choose not to use your Google account and it should just list songs on the device :)

Or you could just choose to display songs on the device only. Just click the drop down menu at the top and choose 'On Device'.

Sorry I meant I'm trying to hide the songs shown on the device, I don't want them to appear in Google Music. Is that possible? :p

Ohhhh, sorry. I thought you meant the other way around.

You could put a .nomedia file in your Music folder, this should stop Google Music from seeing it. But also every other media player..

I'm curious as to why you prefer GM over Spotify so much?

I know its all personal preference, but there's still nothing stand out for me compared with Spotify!

For some reason Spotify for me was laggy, ie when I was trying to create a playlist I would drag an album across and would then have to wait a second or two before I was able to drag across another one.

I also prefer the layout of Google play.
