Google Music

Id rather use it for other apps and make use of my memory card, it means i dont have to worry about it:)

More often than not I'm on wifi somewhere streaming it.

I quite often use it in my car to stream to the headunit. No wifi in there :p

Is anyone else having issues with audio quality over 3G? I've tried it at "normal" and "high quality" but both sound bad. My 3G speed isn't great but should certainly be enough to stream at high-quality. It's like it's aggressively dropping the bit rate.

I've not really used a subscription music service before so I can't make comparisons but really like it so far, and impressed with the radio stations.

The only criticism I have so far is that it would be nice if it remembered what I was listening to when I went to a different device, so I was listening to a radio station on my phone earlier and it would be nice if it picked up from the same track when I went to my PC. I guess some people wouldn't like that, but I think it would be a nice option.

Signed up for 30 day trial. Saw Hed Kandi Disco 2013 in store, but is not available via streaming. There only appears to be 21 maximum albums for streaming out of all the dance and hip hop genres I have looked at. Disappointing really.

Your problem is probably that the "normal" quality version is still in the cache, when your changing the quality then trying to play the same song again it's still just chucking out the normal version that it still has stored.

Try some completely different music and it should stream better quality.

This I could get used to!! :D

Just been having a play and when I fired up a track from the X-Men First Class album, I get an epic array of movie scores. I am not bothered about downloading them to my devices as a) I am on 3 network now with One Plan and b) I also use wireless as much as possible. Especially at work!

Hello Google Music All Access! Where have you been all my life? :D

I'm a big Spotify fan and I'm quite impressed with this. Lovely UI and so far every track I've tried has been available, including some that I couldn't find on Spotify. I'll give it a few more days and I imagine I'll probably make the switch.

Slightly annoyed that there isn't a native desktop client, but the web player is quite nice.

How do you sync between devices though? I use my PC, phone and tablet and so far nothing is saved between them unlike Spotify. It's my biggest gripe so far, unless I'm doing something wrong?

Sync what exactly? All your playlists should be the same across all your devices. Your Library should be the same too.

edit: Oh do you mean you want the exact same albums saved for offline play across all of your devices? Isn't it better to be able to pick and choose which music you want on each device?

I'm not fussed about offline access, I would like to chose that device by device. My issue is that nothing syncs, I first tried the service on my phone, I saved a playlist I found in the explore tab and then I added a couple albums to my library. When I fired up my PC and tablet it was blank, just like the first time I used it on my phone.

I'd like to be able to explore the service while I'm out and about on my phone, find something new, go home and have it already waiting in my library on my PC.

Edit: I just tried another refresh and its working fine now, I tried that twice earlier today though and nothing happened. Is it a bit slow? Maybe I'm slow.. Anyway, ignore! All is well.

do you think they will ever have a desktop version that allows you to play local files (like spotify) - my internet connection is so patchy that I currently can't use google music online

Seems like the next logical step, but there's definitely better music players if you're listening to music strictly offline.

I'm hoping for a desktop client. My connect is fine but its the webpage in have problems with - it freezes up, sometimes you play a track and get silence etc. This is in chrome and Firefox. Weird.

Anyway, desktop client please!

It works perfectly for me in chrome.

Seems to be a lot better than music unlimited. I'll definitely be sticking with it after my trial is up.

Really glad they brought all access to the UK.
I have a Premium Spotify account so will interesting to comparing the two, I already had about 11,000 tracks of my library on Google Music so should be nice to mix them with everything else they have.

Try the HTML5 player in Settings > Labs

Although, yes a desktop client would be nice. I'd like Google to allow third-party authorized apps, so foobar etc could integrate it somehow.

Do this, I was having a few issues ages ago, but switching to the HTML player in the Music Labs completely fixed it. Works flawlessly now, however yes a desktop app would be ideal.

I love Google Music! Three are going to hate me :D

I like to listen to some trance some times & this hasn't failed today, it hasn't even repeated a song yet!
