Well in the last 10 years my mum's internet has gone from 56k to 512k, (exchange is about 6 miles away as the crow flies!!) Hardly progress is it. Many rural area's are still totally pathetic, and unless BT stick a wifi openzone thing in the village I can't see it ever improving.

On the flip side where my parents live it has gone from 1mb to 100mb. Rural areas will always suck for Internet access due to the cost v benefit for the companies.
 
i went from 10 to 50 and it ony cost £9 a month more, which would have ben great if the hadnt given me a super hub:(
 
I get 5ms going from my PC to the router 13m away. 3ms must make it plugged in directly via a 1" cable!

Or it IS the internet . . . . :o
