Google Pixel 6/6 Pro

Yeah Ben's usually one of the first Youtubers to show these emerging Chinese flagships first (to a Western audience anyway). I think he sources them from Trinityelectric.

It's nearly always a trade off really, these Chinese phones have the technical edge and the Swiss army approach to lenses but they usually lack the large imaging teams or expertise to compete against Google/Apple and their post processing algorithms.

Incidentally the Chinese version of the x70proplus can be had for about £7-800 but its reported the UK model may well be over £1000 which doesn't help it's cause.Huawei are still lurking in the background with superb imaging as normal, P50pro, Mate 50 etc. Just a shame about the Google ban still being in place. Honor is Huawei too more or less. :)

Pixel 6 Pro will be the one to get I think though.

Got it, the main sensor on the Vivo looks good with no obvious downsides and even wins some battles with the iPhone. In theory Google should do an even better job with post processing, so I am looking forward to the many comparisons coming soon (P6 v iPhone v S21 v Chinese models)

Does look very promising. Not sure if I'll go back to fat boy phone after pixel 5 or not. Depending on spec difference really and reviews.

I hope the weight on the pro isn't silly like the iPhone Pro max or S21U..

GN1 with Pixel processing. Should be stunning. I'm still stunned with night mode on pixel 3.

Gorilla Glass Victus, pretty scratch resistant so could get away without using a screen protector.

It doesn't say on the 6 page but on the 6 Pro it confirms the 5 years of security updates. I have a feeling the last couple of years may not be OS updates in that case...

Victus is a lot more drop resistant but apparently a lot easier to scratch.

Victus is the more scratch resistant version compared to the standard Gorilla Glass line, twice as resistant to Gorilla Glass 6. A few Samsung phones have it and has proven this too.

With regards to GG Victus: When I've watch TechSpurt videos with phone with Victus he always says that it scratches a lot easier than GG 6.
Although this is a  moment "According to Corning’s own tests, Gorilla Glass’ scratch resistance hasn’t improved since 2014. While Corning says the glass got more scratch resistant during early generations before plateauing in recent ones, it switched up the tests used on its product information sheet, making it hard to compare metrics between Gorilla Glass 3, 4, 5, and 6."

its all BS with the gorilla stuff, its basics... if its glass its glass and if it comes in contact with something stronger and sharper then it will mark.

Pretty much. Scratches at a level 6 with deeper groves at a level 7. Then again apples ceramic shield or what ever the call it seems to scratch less compared to gorilla glass

Any info if the pixel 6 or pro have passthrough charging? Looking to get back to pixel from 5ii but i really like pass through charging for games.
