It's great as a collaboration tool, as long as the people you're working with are on there too and using it. It's no email/forum/facebook/IM killer yet, but in the right situation it's brilliant.

On a couple of occasions I've seen Waves appearing within Google search results. I'm guessing Google are just testing at the moment, because they don't appear all that often. It does open up the possibility of real time search results, though.

Wave is going to increasingly pop up in the wild, integrated within websites for various reasons.

hey chaps, any chance of chucking an invite my way?

Im on a business trip at the moment in Chicago, and been using skype to chat with the mrs. so i thought i could give this a go and see if it really is a good communication tool?
