Just wondering, do you guys use googlemail or gmail?

I know that if you send a message to googlemail.com, or gmail.com they both go to your inbox, but what about the return address?

My question is, is it safer to stick with [email protected] ?

quite like the idea of gmail.com

Thanks :)

Gmail was the original name but due to some company suing Google they had to change the name (for the UK) and chose Googlemail.

Gmail sounds a lot better.

I was under the impression that if it was a googlemail.com account and you sent it to gmail.com it wouldn't deliver?

It works, i just think if you return the mail it shows your address as [email protected]

I have a MSN passport with my googlemail acccount as gmail.

European countries are being registered with googlemail accounts, but i was just wondering if gmail is secure, knowing that they havent won the rights to the name or something? as gmail.de is thier competitor?

Those kind of emails will attract a heck of spam. I had one of those "nice" short hotmail email addy, since i signed up way back in 1994. The account is all but unusable. I get close to 300 emails in my inbox daily, mostly from pple typing in wrong addresses, but also spam. Heck, if i dont check it for afew days, there are pages and pages of spam sitting in my inbox.

I've long since given up trying to use the account since you end up sifting through all those junk for the few relevant ones.
