Google's GDrive and MS's LiveDrive

I've been reading around about Google's GDrive and Microsoft's LiveDrive - they both sound great but the articles I have been reading mostly date back to 2006.

Has anyone got any up to date info about these possible products?

i used to use something like this when i first got my gmail account. It was a little app where the huge storage space from my email account could be usedfor storage.

The app essentially emailed files to my account from myself(i had to log in to use it) the files were then stored in the account and could be accessed anywhere(naturally).
the app just made the 'drive' appear in my computer and files just dragged and dropped into it.
