Goonies

This is brilliant and it works, my dad started filling my head with Pink Floyd and Stone Roses when I was first able to comprehend the concept of music. He got me hooked straight away.

Childs Play? Should give the little ones something to think about:p

This means they are subjected to stuff I deem as "real good stuff"... like the following: Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Michael Jackson, Transformers, Labrinth (and thus David Bowie), Back to the Future and other such cult classic things that all people should have in their life and respect. Tonight it's the Goonies, and listening to them down the hallway I can hear them roaring with laughter - another generation hooked - RESULT!

You hero - I need to do the same with my cousins before its too late - I'm not sure if they've ever watched the Goonies before.

Also introduce them to starwars episodes IV to VI and tell them to never never watch the new ones.

Oh absolutely, the youngest adores Star Wars!! He has the originals box set and the best part is he is absolutely mad for the Star Wars Lego; it's pretty much all he got for Christmas, heaps of Star Wars Lego! Being 5 though some of it is a little too difficult for him to master so guess who "helps"? :p

It's his birthday on Thursday too, so I've been sure to point out to Mum and Dad which sets I..... er, he, hasn't got yet.

I am fortunate to have two very young siblings, one is a 5yr lad, the other a 7yr old girl. I'm 29 and try to influence them growing up as much as possible (the parents can stuff it if they think they're going to turn out just like them :p ).

When they're old enough it will be Billy Conolly amd Dawn of the Dead

What do you enforce upon your kids/little siblings?

I've always done this with my eldest boy who is now 10, we watched all the Back to the Futures on Bluray back to back a couple of months ago and he loved it. Annoyingly he didn't like Goonies when I showed it to him a few years back, might have to try him again!

You've gotta do Alien. Ages 5 and 7 is perfect for this. :D
Oooh, and Poltergeist, Terminator, Predator, Clerks, Kill Bill...

And yes, I would show these to a 5 year old. One of the many reasons I don't have kids.

When they're older Arnie films are a must:

Terminator then Terminator 2 (then stop because the rest are rubbish)
Predator / Commando / Red Heat / etc. should be part of the film history

Got to have some Jean Claude van Damme in there, again when theyre older. Nothing beats a bit of Blood Sport and Kick Boxer.

Kids wise - Back to the Future is fantastic, Karate Kid as well.

When I was around 6/7 I was subjected to Hammer Horror movies by my older brother whilst my parents were out. Around 9/10 (<I think) it was Terminator, Day of the dead, Arnie and Rambo stuff just after. Alien was around 10/11 after that anything goes.

Oh to the OP you got to get hold of some old school Son's and Daughter's. Your kids wont have a proper childhood with out them..

Edit: Jesus. I cant remember that many episodes..

I have influenced my daughter in the ways of 'METAL' started off slow with Wayne's World even more so as she thinks I look like him, then I proceeded with 'METAL' in the car along with such classics on video like Spinal Tap and Bad News. I took her to see Vampires Rock which is a show based on vampires and rock music. Then to top it off I took her to see Motorhead and we are going to see Iron Maiden in August. I now have a fully fledged 'METAL' head daughter \m/
