Goosebumps when listening to certain songs - explanation?

the feeling is commonly described as a 'rush' its the same feeling you get from some drugs like cocaine or mostly amphetamines, mdma etc, its just a feeling created by your body experiencing pleasure.
I pity people who have never experienced a rush from music alone, it means you have never truly found music you love

Maybe that's where the expression 'Music is my drug' comes from? Seems like an ideal definition of it.

I get this all the time. Sometime to the point of crying (or eyes watering with joy like when you laugh)

Every time I listen to this type of thing - 3:35 minutes in where it does off big time

When I heard this live, I think it was Jan Johnson who sang live on a night in Gatecrasher sheffield years ago. At the point I had had no drugs but when she started singing I almost collapsed. Atmosphere was out of this world

Hearing this played in Amnesia Ibiza, first time in Amneisa. I still think god actually came out the speakers that night!

The Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim themes all do it to me. Guns 'n' Roses, when the main solo kicks in during sweet child of mine and november rain. Seize the day by Avenged Sevenfold does it for me too, again at the solo. A really nice feeling :D

edit: Just found another - Nowhere to run by Kiss, at the first "Nowhere to ruuuuun!" and everything kicks in :P

I get this occasionally, usually whilst listening to some (very loud) uplifting breakbeat with strings or piano. Stuff like the Beatman and Ludmilla tune below - this has made it into a few of my more recent sets, epic break @ 2.22

And another one that's crept into my play list is Chris Nemmo - Nightshade (Retroid remix) awesome break @ 2.58

Hybrids "Finished Symphony" was one of the first breakbeat tunes I heard that made brilliant use of strings and still sounds fresh over 10 years later! :D
