)

Which multi-vit are you taking? I've never seen one have that much vitamin A before. Also what kind of Vit A is it? There's one that's formed in the body when needed (safer) and there's a pre-formed one that can be toxic in high doses.Linoge said:Well the rda for vitamin A with the H&B vitamin tablets is 371%. I take one a day but on top of that I take cod liver oil gel tablets and that contains 100% rda for vitamins A and D. Is this too much vitamin A per day to be taking? Thanks again CW.![]()

Yes I would be worried about taking almost 500% RDA of Vit A from supplements, don't forget you'll also be getting some from your diet.
This is why I never take or advise people to take Cod Liver Oil, too rich in Vit A. EPA/DHA Fish oils are far better![]()
Yes I've seen those in the shop now you mention them. Maybe they do them so highly dosed as they're timed release? Who knows but if I were you I'd stop taking them everyday aswell as Cod Liver Oil.Linoge said:It's the Holland & Barrett One (Timed Release) vitamin tablets. This is what it says on the label:
Vitamin A 2970ug (9,900 I.U.) 371% RDA
Excesses of anything is bad for you. How much would you call excess and what dangers are there?>:|sh4d0w|:< said:Taking excesses of vitamins can be bad for you aswell, with b6 and other b's in particular.

They do seem to contain mainly the pre-formed Vitamin A.
You could buy a different multi-vit like the one I suggested above and alternate them, or take half of each everyday?
Don't forget to let us know what they say in reply. I've thought about asking similar stuff myself in the past.Linoge said:I think I will do that. The last thing I want is vitamin toxicity. I'm going to fire an email off to them and ask them why the RDA is so high. Are there any other vitamins from that label that are in really excess quantities?
If you insist on buying from there:Linoge said:Yeah will do, while I order the ones you recommended there, can you recommend any omega oil tablets from that site?
