I got a job interview at tesco, and i am really nervous about it, shall i wear a suit to the interview, what kind of questions will they ask me, and what if they ask me the dreaded question why do you want to work here? shall i just be honest and say well i want the money you had a vacancy, i need money so i can give it to overclockers for some nice PC parts?

EDIT: Basically i went down and the something happened to the manager and i couldent attend the interviews. They had over 20 people for 8 jobs when i arrived AND I WAS THE ONLY ONE WEARING A SUIT!. SO basically every1 went home and waiting on a phone call to reschudeule

PS good luck

As said above... Interview ALWAYS means suit!! There's NO reason to not wear a suit to an interview, no matter what the job.

Wearing a suit will NEVER impact negatively on you, only ever neutrally or positively. However, not wearing a suit will only ever have a negative impact. It's just the way it is!

I wore my school uniform to my job interview at McDonalds. It was during school hours

Yes, wear a suit. Why do people even ask this?

As for reasons : you enjoy customer interaction, working within teams, developing communication and prioritisation skills etc.

No such thing as overdressed, wear a tuxedo if you have to.

No you cant just say I want the job for the money. Go to the job centre and ask them for advice if need be and if nothing else just speaking to someone behind a desk for that time will give you a clue hopefully

Well i've had interviews at 2 different asdas, one twice and in all the group interviews so that's ~30 odd people there was only 1 guy who wore a suit. Smart trousers and a shirt sure but a suit? lol.

inb4 no suit hence why i didn't get the job

Just because everyone was wrong apart from one guy doesn't make it better.

I'm sure there are other reasons why you didn't get it. By not wearing a suit you're effectively starting from -10 instead of 0. The guy who wears a suit? It's expected but means nothing more. The guy who doesn't wear a suit? Immediate disadvantage unless the job is a paper round and he's 12 years old.

If they do ask the "dreaded question" (although I'm struggling to see how it can be referred to as dreaded as it's standard procedure to ask this to all potential candidates) "why do you want to work here?"

Be honest and tell them that because you want a nice shiny new PC from Overclockers that "every little helps" :)

Just simply say that you are a people person and take great pride in providing the best service for customers and the company. Anything along those lines really. Just Bulls**t them really along as you make them think that you sound eager.
