GOT A JOB INTERVIEW AT TESCO NEED help FORUM!

You have to lie because who honestly wants to work at Tesco because they want to be friendly and enjoy working there??!! Thats what you have to say though.

It does seem bizzare to wear a suit to an interview for stacking shelves though, I always thought it is fine to wear something casual if it's a job like that maybe just a shirt and nice trousers. Don't wear trainers.

I cannot believe people are advising AGAINST wearing a suit...

What has society become?

A suit makes it look like you actually give a **** and might want the job.

It hardly matters what the job is, looking smart is never going to help, and is good practice for a real job later on.

OP, wear a damn suit. (Could even make it a Tesco one, and praise its quality. (you would be lying of course))

I got a job interview at tesco, and i am really nervous about it, shall i wear a suit to the interview, what kind of questions will they ask me, and what if they ask me the dreaded question why do you want to work here? shall i just be honest and say well i want the money you had a vacancy, i need money so i can give it to overclockers for some nice PC parts?

LOL, am I the only person that laughed at this :D

Good luck, wear a suit, smile, be positive.

If they ask you something and you don't know, don't panic, don't go red.

Good luck.

Mate I went to a uni interview a few weeks ago and some people came in casual clothes, a couple of people were wearing trainers and jeans, I mean come on!

A suit is playing it safe.

Say you want the job because the shelves aren't going to stack themselves. Then explain the joke to them.

Minimum of smart shoes, smart shirt (not a school shirt!), suit trousers and tie. Assuming you have suit trousers, you probably have the matching jacket. It's cold outside, so you've no excuse not to wear a jacket really.

Wear a suit, be polite, say how much you would like to have a career in retail, how much you enjoy helping people etc etc.
Oh, and wear a suit.

WEAR A track SUIT and trainers or joggy bottoms and a hoddie you will blend right in

most employees turn up like that, its normal. tesco dont give a crap, nor do most non executive jobs.

:p

unless i have been extremely lucky, i got every one of my jobs without a suit (not all at tesco lmao!)... then again i didnt go in an interview looking like i just stole a mars bar from the local newsagent.

Just don't be a complete fool and you will get the job. Wear a suit, be sensible, answer honestly (but not too honestly), say lots of nice things about working in a team, being dependable etc.

You'll be fine.

(P.S. firm handshake, always.)
