Got My First Car!

My cousin did it on his coupe. Just took them off, gave a light sanding then used a plastic primer then sprayed them the colour he wanted (he used the body colour)

What I'm after is the crappy old man wood effect around the heater dials & on the dash to be gone. I can't source any black replacemtn parts. I suppose it's not too much of a hardship to remove them & spray them myself?

have you tried the scrap yards?, there's 2 near the transporter (seaton carew side) and one at warranby (nr Redcar), well worth a trip.

Nice car Bri! A W plate, that must be one of the very very late ones. I think they stopped making the 200 in 2001, finishing with the BRM (haven't seen any regular 200's on V plates).

Not sure what the 1.1 engine is like performance wise, I'm guessing around 13 seconds to 60? Not too shabby, but as you say, much better than the bus.

Removing the wood trim from the centre console is very easy. 4 screws holding the console in I think, pull it forward and the wood panel just clips off. I have the wood panel in mine but am thinking of ripping it off and spraying it silver.

I'm quite suprised at the number of people saying nice things, especially about a Rover. We can't be having that now can we? :eek:

It was registered 29/03/00, like you say I think it's one of the last ones!

The 1.1 seems not too bad actually (until you show it a hill

), quoted as 15 seconds to 60, i think it's a little quicker than that (as long as you accelerate to 60 in 4th, 5th is a bit dead tbh).

I'm a little shocked at the nice things being said, no old man comments or anything :eek:

I'm a little disappointed if anything!
