Got wood?

Why's that then?

Main areas to look at are, what does the M badge have anything to do with anything.

The Fox mod was an OEM factory mod, so it can come out of the factory like that whereas the M badge is an aftermarket mod....

Infact I don't understand how you can't understand what you said was weird.

Whatever floats your boat, you like it, that's all that counts although you've got to appreciate you're gonna have a tough time telling someone off for putting an ///M badge on their 320 after pulling off the "wood mod".

Yeah, that's totally the same thing.

I don't really see the link between changing interior trim colour and adding exterior badges, seemed like a fairly random observation :p

They're both marmite "modifications". I think if you chose to do one yourself, it makes it harder to criticise when someone else does one. Just saying

See my post above.

Perhaps you want to go and find out if BMW ever supplied rear ///M badges from the factory on non ///M but M-Tech equiped cars? Tip: they did.

In fact, I'm fairly sure that if you ask BMW when ordering an M-Sport variant car, they will supply a rear ///M badge from the factory. Not sure if it's the case now but it certainly used to be.

Anyway, I'm not saying they are the same thing, I'm saying they are both "mods" that divide opinion.

I like it, really modernises it:)

:D

Observation: Even though the sport weighted short knob is being used there the lever still stands very high....

You're not articulate enough to carry off that argument...

I'm aware of my limitations, I try the best I can.....

It's not an argument, it's my opinion. Whether people like it or not is up to them, I'm sure the next few posts will show I'm in the minority....

I for one wouldn't value the opinion of aesthetics from someone who prefers wood in the interior of a "modern" car, factory option or not. That's not a slant at Fox in any way, it just makes it clear to me that our tastes differ, as I'm sure it would to many of my generation who tend to view "wood" as being from an older generation of motoring.

I'm ready for my beating now....

It would seem Jaguar, Mercedes and BMW didn't get the memo about wood being from an older generation of cars given they are all selling current model cars with it fitted :p

Perception, you know that :D

Although I would hazard a guess that the average age of new buyers who spec it from the factory is well above 50.

Not really a fan of wood trim, but that does like much better against the black than the silver trim. Interior looks warmer and more classy. There's a time and place for wood trim and this is a good example.

To be honest though whilst you may feel that conforming to a strict age based stereotype is more important than choosing what you like, I can't agree with that approach. I am not at all bothered by the average age of people who make similar choices to me. It doesn't change the look and feel :)
