Gotham

Just watched the first episode...after the hype it's had online and from friends, i'm feeling a little underwhelmed. They've shoe-horned so many cameo's in for villains in Batmans future it felt hurried and a little contrived.

Will stick with it though as i'm a massive Batman fan.

SixTwoSix has said exactly what I thought.

Too many future villains were introduced in the first episode it felt like it was relying so much on its heritage and not enough on what it could offer.

It still has potential and overall was a good effort given the restraints of Batmans back story.

Personally ...

It doesn't get any better.

Found myself (huge batman fan) forcing myself through the second and third episodes.

If you think Smallville was cheesy this is as bad if not worse.

Its a shame as I really wanted to like it give its setting and me being a fan of the main actor from the OC ((a tv guilty pleasure of mine)).

So much disappoint.

Agree with everything that's been said so far. The first episode seemed very rushed - maybe this is a by-product of them only having 13 episodes?

Give it time! People expect too much too soon. As the season goes on, I am sure it will get better. Things will get interesting.

I will keep watching purely cos it's DC.

Funniest thing was the sponsored by Marvel X-Men film at the ad breaks.

How many future baddies did they cram in, I think I recognised 4 big ones not being a big DC fan.

Seems interesting. Some good performances but as above, it did feel like they were introducing too many of the known villains too soon. Also seemed a bit weird that it's all modern-day yet the cops are driving 80s Fords, but I guess that's supposed to be a throwback to the comic style.

Channel 5's Dolby 5.1 audio mix (via Sky) was bloody terrible though, rear channel volumes were all over the place and the sound quality wasn't particularly good either. Did anyone else notice this?

some of the acting is a but questionable but ,hopefully they will weed it out for the 2nd series ,or just do what the yanks normally do and just cancel it.

and my god Cats eyes are wierd !!

Watched second episode a few days back, still not impressed. It's got an Arrow level of cheese I wasn't expecting due to the calibre of actors. Will watch 3rd ep tonight on demand, please tell me it gets better.

Were you guys hoping for a dark knight vibe to the series? If you guys are comparing it to smallville, I don't think ill even bother watching the first episode.

It was filled with them.

Penguin, Poison Ivy, Joker (the comedian who was entertaining fish mooney), Riddler, Falcone. :o
