GOW - Who's Man Enough?

Sorry to the people in Nintenjo's pary, I would have killed you some more but I had a lot of other friends wanting to be killed by me :p (also my mic was silent for some reason)

I think I've probably sent you a few in the last 2 days, sorry :).

I've not even managed to do the training for single player yet but If anybody is up for some Co-op next week then I'm game.
 
I wasnt picking anyone out Zico, think i only got 1 from you - and a voice message; and at 4am this morning a picture of your dog....

No worries, just wanted to get some credit for pestering you :D

Don't know what to say about the picture of my dog, couldn't sleep last night so ended up trying to take a picture of both rottweilers for the gamertag. Gave up in the end and took a picture off of the screen.
 
Really enjoyed the two matches I played tonight. Was rubbish the first time but in the second match ended up leading our team with 6 kills and 3 revives, though we lost. Will have to do that again, was really enjoyable to play an online game with zero lag whatsoever :)

I was having a lot of lag problems last night. Not sure what it is but guessing it's my cheepo talk talk broadband. (Moving house in a month so at least I can change).

I know it's lag as when I jumped down to chainsaw someone (can't remember who) on the last map last night, I saw myself jump down three times then he just picked me off easily. Very frustrating. The other lag problem is quite a few times someones run at me with a chainsaw and I've clearly hit them a few times on my screen but they stll get the chance to cut me in half.

Still, really enjoyed the games and there were a few times (especially earlier on) where I 'felt' the lag wasn't as bad and it felt a lot more responsive.

PS Is anyone else playing GoW in their head when they go to sleep? I kept seeing the red GoW skull every time I closed mj eyes! Lol
 
Lag is deceptive. I believe we all have it now and then, but the game does a good job of masking it. Unlike other games where people end up freezing or jumping around, the only evidence of lag here is the occasional curious death when you think you shot first, or were the first to rev the chainsaw.

Do note guys that when I check my friends list there's always at least 9 or 10 OcUKers on, and last night I counted about 20, so if the one game we're in is full, there should be enough people for at least one more.

I kinda wish we could have up to 8v8 on some maps.

4 people to kill is just not enough. ;)

I hope it's not a netcode issue, but one of game mechanics and Epic simply felt that on these maps 4v4 was enough.

Another neet thing they could put in is tournament software, so that you could get mabye 4 teams in a lobby and then go off and play each other in either a league or Knock out tournament. That would be quite cool.


I'm not sure if I can play tonight. I might pop on for the odd game, but I have course work to do so I need to get on with that.

Is the mic on/off button on the earpeice?

If so, i'm sure we'll all be hearing breathing noises etc, as I turn my mic off when I'm not talking as It's so easy to do while playing (with your thumb). Taking your hand off the controller and reaching for your ear may prove difficult! :p :D

I believe the reasons for 4v4 are twofold, 1) The maps are small, arena type environments that simply aren't suited for 16 players, maps like 'Rooftops' or 'Canals' are perfect for 8 players. 2) There aren't dedicated servers for this, so you are very limited as to what you can get from a home users Internet connection.

I fully agree that there are several maps not suited to 16 players. IM canal would handle up to 12 players Also again there should be no reason why 8v8 is not possible. I did it all the time with GRAW and Halo.

So it seems odd that its not available on some maps.
 
Just finsihed playing some great games with

krono, dannyjo, alrik valo (from ukraine), steedie, ammocity, defreats.

Im still up for a few more games, am hosting a game now if anyone wants to join.
