GP2 & GP3 2013 Season

Agreed. To come back to single seaters after so much time away and be right on the pace is impressive stuff! If he completes a full year in GP3 and takes the title in 2014, surely a 2015 F1 drive should be on the cards?

I wouldn't read too much into these lap times. Besides, Stoneman is British and not affiliated with any development programs, he'll have a hard time competing against better sponsored drivers.

Should be on the cards, unfortunately...

... Is likely more the reality. So many talented drivers who don't get picked, still you never know so fingers crossed for the guy!

Alexander Sims is probably a good example of one who has missed his chance (if he ever really got one) driving well, finished 8th after only driving half the races, every finish in the points. He doesn't seem to have the backing necessary to progress. Wonder if he could be a good choice for Formula E? He seems very keen on electric cars and renewable energy going by his Twitter, could be a great spokesman for it.

If only some of these drivers were Russian, Brazilian, Venezuelan etc, etc. :p

To be fair, the GP2 and GP3 fields wouldn't have anywhere near 26 cars without pay drivers. Russian Time is one of the few teams that pays its drivers at that level (the owner is independently wealthy).

Oh yea definitely, it's just a shame when it goes 'too far' I guess you could say.

Russian Time are indeed a rarity these days, the drivers don't bring any money for their seats, although I read somewhere that the drivers don't get paid by the team either. It must be a nice position to be able to choose the drivers rather than the driver/money package.

Edit: Found where it said about the drivers not being paid, I knew it was recent, was from Dillmann's Q&A.

:D

Well if nothing else Jorda is good to look at :p

Eh, not really. Mazda's grid girls are probably better looking on average ;)

If I recall correctly, she was almost always the last car running in the 5 Indy Lights races she entered (before swiftly departing the series), and is the only GP3 driver to DNQ an event. :p
