Hi, i ordered a GPU from ocUK and it arrived without the seal film around it and the clear window in the box looked scratched and abit dirty, this makes me think i'v been sent an returned item or something dodgy needless to say i am peed off at the minute. Has anyone recieved and unsealed GPU from ocUK..?

Welcome to the club.

Quite simply not all cards come in a sealed bag, some don't come in any bag (anti static foam).

In some cases the seals are broken by the manufacturer to apply a bios update.

Does the card it's self look new?

A box can easily get a little dirty/damaged in storage/shipping too.

That's a nice spin you put on that message. Every card should be sealed end of. This practice needs to stop

Or at least reseal them...

OCuk sometimes need to open the boxes to put in codes and I m sure others do too. ( Or just put it into the outerbox were the invoice is and haribo! :D )

Why, because I've had 2 GPU's that have had grease and dust all over them. My last one looked like they took it to burger king. We pay a lot of money for these cards. How would like it if you bought a new TV and it had grease all over it. Would you be happy.....No

Isn't there a difference between "unsealed" and "unsealed and damaged/dirty" though?

Sounds like what you really want is to not be sent damaged/dirty goods (no surprise there). There are legitimate reasons for unsealed (clean/working) goods, as others have pointed out.

Agreed!

I've had them come not sealed in a anti static bag.

But if it was bought "new" surely it should be sealed?
It would be different if it was a used/b-grade stock though.

My two msi cards from different manufacturers were not sealed. You can normally tell by the state of the anti static bag if it has been used before.

MSI cards don't come sealed (the box doesn't) only the anti static bag comes with a tape.
HIS cards come with a seal, but not a film around the box
If I remember, Sapphire cards come with a seal as well.
Asus I don't remember but I think they don't come with a seal.
