GPU for 1440p is it possible low budget?

It's easier to that than always having to buy a new graphics card.
Absolutely mate, if you MUST have 60FPS @4K with the latest titles then, unfortunately, you need very deep pockets these days - this solution (a display that has good - to my eyes - upscaling) is the solution IMO, as I said it is hard to tell the difference at lower resolutions and even 1080p still looks very very good - with the advantage you can go silly on the settings - maximum AA, etc - with a 1080ti or similar at that resolution once it is upscaled again it is not that discernible from 1440p IMO.

Me again :D Still have the 5700XT and now find myself in a pickle!

The used market is vast and wide.

There is a 1070Ti for £190
1080 for £210
1080Ti for £350
Loads of RX580s for around £90

The question is for 75FPS fixed on 1440P to which would give the best value? Also to note a 5700XT is around £250 second hand. Even seen a Red Devil for a little bit more.

I don't have MM access so these are FB market place prices local to me.

Does AMD finally have the perfect product in the 5700XT? The prices of used Nvidia cards especially the 2070s and the like are ridiculous, almost new prices.

Id say no, i just owned a 5700xt for 5 days. I sent it back basically a tiny bit of micro stutter as the reason. The real reason is that for the price it offered no tangible beneifit over my Seahawk 980ti. Sure it runs games at a higher refresh rate but not that great over the old 980ti. IRacing it ran a little bit quicker but ive switched back to the 980ti and i cant tell im not using the 5700xt. I was aiming too high 1440 @165hz which was too much for the card. So decided to wait till next gen. Going to run my screen at 60hz and enjoy the 980ti for a little longer.

Same, the reason I changed to Green Team was the black screens and stutter, believe it was driver issues that are now sorted (not 100% sure). But hey, my Nvidia GPU running sweet atm!

That's interesting thanks. I had a 970 for a little while. I may see what I can find a 980Ti for. There very old now though and am worried about second hand cards breaking. It's still a fair chunk of money.

Ive always dabbled with used cards, never had an issue but of course beware. Cant say id move to a 980ti but at the moment i wont move away till next gen.

you should be better off running at your max refresh rate even if the card cant really keep up? that was my experience with 120hz/144hz

Of course, dont get me wrong it was a improvement in fps. However last time i used it on i racing i was getting 120fps+ on one straight and 61fps near the pits, so it wasnt a constant smooth display rate. Basically i get a constant 60fps on the 980ti so i saw no point in shelling out a couple of hundred on top of the 980ti for now. Im much happier and better off with my display at 60hz and my gpu running everything perfectly. Also in Battlefield v there were very very minor stutters which were annoying. Even took a shot of the gpu usage graph dropping randomly mid game, i dont get that on the 980ti not one bit.
