970 due to lower temps and good overclocking potential plus as said its new tech compared to the 290 which will soon be knocked off top and spot by upcoming 390 cards.
Some problems with coil whine on some 970 cards though but ocuk do one thats guaranteed not to have any
ok my friend when is the new 390 cards being released?
If you wer buying would you hold off until the 390 releases or would you just dive in a 290/x 970
Im finding it difficult to make a decision as Im a AMD fan, always had their cards from the 5870s to 5970 to 7970, never had a probleb, but the nvdia cards have so much more technology such as all this:
- NVIDIA® Super Resolution technology
- NVIDIA® GameWorks technology
- NVIDIA® GameStream technology
- NVIDIA® TXAA Technology
- NVIDIA GPU Boost 2.0
- NVIDIA PhysX® Technology
- NVIDIA FXAA Technology
- NVIDIA Adaptive Vertical Sync
- NVIDIA Surround
- Microsoft DirectX 12
- NVIDIA® 3D Vision® Ready
- NVIDIA SLI® Ready Technology
- NVIDIA CUDA® technology
- PCI Express 3.0 support
- NVIDIA SHIELD Ready
- NVIDIA G-Sync Ready
The AMD cards don't have as much, and it does not support the upcoming DX12, I usually keep my cards for 2-3 years before upgrading so if I get a 290, Im gonna miss out on dx12.
