Grand Theft Auto 4

Theres a few cards that can run this well, ones white with a circular led display on it, and the others black. Both are '3' series cards.

Good lord. The 360 version looks miles better than that. What happened Rockstar?! They usually do fairly decent PC ports.

I'm hoping it is a problem with his computer, probably ain't tho :(

This does in no way remind me of Crysis actually... Try EQ2!! I guess GTA IV uses a similar engine :\

I'm determined to get this working perfectly on my PC tomorrow, going to strip Vista down for this and I've got Windows 7 on the ready too.

I really feel sorry for the people that have brought this game and have bog standard pre-fabricated machines that they've brought on the high street.

They wont know what's hit em :(, It would not surprised me if their machines just implode and disappear into a black hole :(

Erm,no it doesn't. It looks exactly the same tbh, maybe less of the blurriness that blighted the console versions though, difficult to say without seeing it running, but it's definitely no worse looking.

i was thinking that earlier when reading this thread tbh

at least we know it's mental, and we still buy it :p

No worse? Those shots look awful in comparison to what im playing on the 360 as I type. They have more jaggies than the 360 version and it has quite a few itself.

Is there anyone else out there with the game and a different spec who can verify/show us more screenies?

I'd like to know if this is a really widespread issue.

Wish I hadn't placed that pre-order now. Think I'll be leaving it sealed and sending it straight back on the basis of these reports. Only have a dual-core and 8800GT so doesn't sound promising at all.

I'm just about to install mine, spec below. If it installs properly I'll post back with some screens.

Hoping my machine can run it.

AMD Athlon X2 6400+ (3.2GHz)
8GB PC6400 DDR2
GeForce 8800GTS 512

I'm also hoping that the people having performance issues are having problems because they're using less than 4GB RAM. A long shot but one can dream. :p

Looks the same to me,but without the blur all over the screen that the console version had,the jaggies are possibly more prominent on the pc version but then forcing AA through the drivers should sort that.

To people having performance problems,is there a frame limiter setting in the display/options menu, all the other PC versions of GTA had it and if enabled, was an absolute performance killer.
