***Grand Theft Auto VI***

FYI, gta 6 has been in development since 2014 on a games company that and existed for over 15 years prior. This wasn't and is not some kick starter company that started from zero. They have had a team. Engine and expertise and track record to deliver epic games, yet with all of that, they are 12 years into development before it's released.

From all what we have seen from clips etc. Graphically doesn't look as game breaking as we hoped and animation looks alright,. Nothing spectacular. So what's the hold up?

Yeah sounds about right, add on 6-12 months for PC version.

I enjoyed 1, 3, VC, SA and 4 but found 5 to be just a bit too annoying, giving up around the yoga mission on both playthroughs. But I will likely buy it on day one, if there are no major issues.

I don't mind delays and all games should only be released when ready. That's the reason I will never buy Star Citizen. And Peter Molyneux is the reason I never pay for early access games :)

What I don't like is known bugs in 5 where some missions fail instantly because the frame rate is too high, causes the physics to go out of whack and moves the car out of bounds or something, so the only way to get past one of the missions is to reduce the framerate in the AMD/Nvidia control panel, pass that mission and change the framerate back again. Rockstar are aware of this bug but continue to sell the game without a patch.

Disappointing!! Lots of double dipping waiting to happen. I have had to buy GTA 5 on Xbox 260, PC and then PS5.

If it hits November 2026 for current gen consoles, I reckon we'll see a PC release around Spring / Early Summer 2028.

Not sure when the PS6 is rumoured to release as not payed any attention to it but if it is close to the delayed GTA 6 date wouldn't it make more sense to release GT6 on the original date if possible for double dippers? If both are releasing around November why bother with the PS5 version? Or is the PS6 going to be something daft like £1500? :p
Yeh I had a quick look yesterday and reckon the PS6 will be summer 2027 or shortly after.

So a fall release next year on the PS5 is timed nicely for double dipping to get "GTA6 Enhanced" the year after...

Any point in gettiing it next year then besides FOMO?

i think i rather wait for the PC or PS6 version

Not 2027 you don't think?

You never know but GTA V took about 18 months to release on PC after consoles, wouldn't be that surprising to see the same happen again, especially if next gen consoles release in that cycle and they see more value in releasing for that first.

I presume this is all for the story mode? I haven't seen any news about an updated GTA Online..

Really not fussed about story mode, but play GTAV Online with a few mates most weeks.

Sounds pretty crap if true, worrying also if some solid long term employees have gone, if not GTA 6 then then future games will likely be effected.

Some games that companies release seemingly have a different identity and quality level after the experienced and seasoned workers move on.

I suspect that they game has restarted development a number of times and has had huge sections of the game reworked, hence the long development time. I think this is similar to what happened with CP2077, Starfield and Black flag. Which doesn't bode well.

Sounds like some rather shady goings on at Rockstar if this is true
they probably got a spy in the union and then look for any excuses to fire people on the list.
games studios seems to be the worst jobs, all gig economy crap hired for one project and fired as soon as it's released etc...

we need one company that hires real gamers and holds on to talent over a decade.

all these huge studios are basically releasing crap games because they keep resetting staff and it seems the people they hire don't have much experience or aren't gamers..

I honestly wonde rhow many games are made these days and the Game director, executive producer and lead producer aren;t gamers and would never play the game they are in charge of making....

even the people who make UIs these days don't seem to be gamers

It's probably going to knock everything else out of the water, just like RDR2.

Rockstar play chess whilst everyone else plays chequers.
