***Grand Theft Auto VI***

We should still stay cautious and wait for an official statement from rockstar

I second this, whilst i can't claim to have played every gta ever i have played all major releases starting at GTA 3 and i am suitably excited to get my mitts into this. I was considering a cheap second hand Playstation as don't think i would have the patience to wait a year or more but i can certainly wait out a few months.

Hopefully we will hear something official before year close. With that in mind they update their fiscal year performance on 9th November. I think that will give us an indicator on pre order performance / demand. If it's through the roof as i think we all expect it to be it's going to allow take two reason to delay going to PC. The percentage of PC users who are going to use emultation or the new fangled AnyPS5 software to play this on the PC would be a tiny percentage of their market on PC. I personally think their pre order and launch performance will be the deciding factor of it's launch on PC.

My two preditions are
IF sales/pre orders aren't up to expectation on console we can expect a PC Launch announcement Q4 2026 / Q1 2027 and Launch on Q1/Q2 2027
If sales/pre orders are great i think we will see a launch announcement Q1/Q2 2027 for Launch Q3/Q4 2027 - Soon enough to keep people from running it on PC via third party software btu long enough that people are likely to double dip.

But thats only my view, i could be completely wrong

I doubt rockstar care much about the double dipping, the sales pc v console are insignificant really. They just have focused on the console release as that's the money maker, then they'll need to be clamped down on bug/hit fixes before they consider the pc version.

Big announcement tomorrow

I'd be very surprised if the PC version comes out that early. I was expecting more like q1 2028.

Just 3 to 4 months after the console release with no prior warning or statement would seem odd.

If true, likely wasn't intended this early but they would push it forward due to the leaks and fear the build could be released in full?

I'd be surprised if they announce a date for PC before the console launch.

Too many PC people willing to pickup a console to play it in November who would hold off a few months if that was the case....

Console sales will likely dwarf the number of PC players who'd actually buy a console copy just because a PC date hasn't been announced, so I'm not sure Rockstar would be that concerned about it.

People willing to double-dip will probably do so anyway because the FOMO will be too strong at launch, while most dedicated PC players are just going to wait for the PC version regardless.

No build leak, we will have to wait decomp of the retail one :p

Is it really realistic to bring forward a release date though? Most of the time games get delayed.

I would be surprised if they have the PC version all done and dusted and ready to go. They would almost certainly be working on it up to a deadline/in relation to the original release date, and i would be surprised if it was feasible to suddenly cut the development time.

so the emulator stuff forced them to release earlier / or at least announce it when they wouldnt have yet?
Looks like it. If confirmed Q1 2027 is a date brought forward. Seeing everything happening not just with GTA VI but with others saying that it’s getting very easy to decompile and move a game to another platform ( https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2026/10/13/introducing-xbox-labs/ ) it’s strongly suggests this has been brought forward likely for this reason.
