Ok so i have 2x HD 6870's running atm, the one in the x16 slot is 300mhz core clock and 300mhz memory clock. The one in the x8 slot is 100mhz core clock and 150mhz memory clock, I have them running in crossfire ofc. Can someone please explain to me the problem?

Is there a problem?

I imagine the second card is downlocked more because it's not used when you're at the desktop.

What you really need to worry about is the speeds when you're playing a game.

Typically a HD 6870 will have a core speed of 900MHz and a memory speed of 1050 MHz (quad pumped to 4200MHz) when fully ramped up for gaming.

I tried it on fallout 3 and the clocks didn't change for the second card. Tried it on battlefield badcompany 2 here are results.

Edit: I am gonna install a profile manager thing from ati drivers to try a bench on lost planet 2 and i will get back to you with more results..

Screenshots look OK.

Can you provide the make model of the power supply you're using and confirm that each card has two 6 pin power connectors securely attached.

I've just found this in a thread and aparantly it's a fix for the clockspeed. But I'm not sure what to do with the files in the link.

Here is the link http://xfxstorage.com/Support/BIOS/Video/ATI/6870/ClockFix/

Those files are for flashing the BIOS on the cards which carries with it a certain element of risk.

Perhaps you should see if any other advice comes along first before going down that route.

In the CCC there's an option somewhere for performance/quality. Check it's set for performance.

Coolermaster Silent Pro 700W Modular PSU, both cards have the 6 pin power connectors securely attached.

There shouldn't be a problem using that PSU though I think it only has two 6 pin power connectors so I assume you're using molex adapters for the other 2.

Make sure each card is using one "proper" connector and one from the molex adapters so that the load is shared out over the different types of connector.

If possible use a different cable from the PSU for each molex adapter.

Yeah probably, I only just ordered the CM Storm Scout case with the psu bundle yesterday. I heard somewhere that both cards go at the lower speed clock of one of the cards, so if it's stuck at 775mhz then it will be lowered performance? I'm trying to get the best out of my build. Because atm my mate got a better bench than me on Lost planet 2 with a GTX 480. So yeah ^^ if theres anything you can find I would greatly appreciate it! :)
