Graphics Card Question

I have a nVidia® GeForce™ Go 8600M GT with 256MB DDR2 inside my laptop , i am no expert , how good is it ?

I only use laptop for Photoshop CS5 & Microsoft Word thats it , i upgraded laptop last week

Should be fine Certainly meets minimum spec for photoshop CS5 as far as i can tell. As for Microsoft Word....well..i wouldnt worry

With photoshop i believe you'll get more out of better cpu/memory than gpu, so if you're meeting the minimum spec i imagine you'll be fine..

Not much point going for faster memory won't make any noticeable difference to performance.

The only thing that might potentially be useful would be an SSD drive as that would make the OS boot faster and applications a bit quicker loading/doing stuff.

Faster memory? Dunno how far you could go there or how effective it would be. Might be worth a post in GH on the viability, but i wouldnt hold out too much hope .

I was going to change for XPS laptop but think i would be wasting my money . . .
