I7 880 , it's only a bit faster than what you have had a look if any Xeon processor with 6 cores but all are 4 cores. My knowledge is limited with Xeon processor. So for cpu what can i upgrade to on this existing asrock p55 pro motherboard
Ram is DDR 3You can still use the things you just bought, the SSD can move over as can the RAM, GFX and the PSU when you upgrade the Motherboard and chip.
I am not so sure he can use the RAM. It is quite likely DDR3. Certainly it cannot be used on a more modern system. Basically, OP will either upgrade to a more modern DDR3 system which will be probably 2015 latest (Broadwell 5th gen). You can still use the things you just bought, the SSD can move over as can the RAM, GFX and the PSU when you upgrade the Motherboard and chip.
Ideally now just buy yourself a motherboard and chip, something second hand if the budget is tight. You can use your current system until you save up a bit for these parts. 3600 or even 5600 Ryzen are fairly inexpensive to build and still give a good bang per buck as far as I know, I would recommend Intel but I'm a bit out of the loop nowadays.
You will probably also need a cooler, unless the bundle you buy comes with one. What Case do you have?
Five lashes with a bullwhip, 10 Hail Mary's and eating a marmite and apricot jam sandwich and all will be forgivenOops sorry guys I never noticed the DDR3 part.
