GRAW 2 PC delayed / rant

Was really looking forward to playing this game over Easter was scheduled for release Friday and now it has been delayed to June 30 :mad:

I am genuinely gutted and feel really stupid for looking forward to it so much :( It looked like a VEGAS and GRAW love child :)

Random rant

Might give STALKER a go now :rolleyes: when I do play I like to play something that is stable and relatively bug free :eek: but even that is too much to ask of a lot of game these days.

I do not even play MMORPG's but have been tempted into playing Vangard (buggy, runs poorly, totally unstable) recently due to lack of FPS! R6 VEGAS (buggy, runs poorly) kept me entertained for a couple of weeks and I found armed assault a tad boring but thats about it on the FPS front.

If I never owned a performance PC I think I would get an XBOX360 tomorrow.

Are things actually better on the console side? Are games stable? Do they run consistently smooth? Is there random jerkiness? Is XBOX live really as good as I have heard it is?

Conclusion: PC gaming STILL beats the pants off console gaming. Nothing beats installing user-made content on Oblivion whilst talking to your Battlefield 2142 clanmates on your own forum. You simply can't do this on console.

I'm a multiplatform gamer. I own both the next gen consoles, and enjoy playing them, but nothing beats the thrill of PC gaming in my opinion. It can be more frustrating, but -generally- it's more rewarding.
 
I moved to 360 gaming late last year and haven't looked back. Don't get me wrong the PC is still here as there are some games only the PC can do well (mainly RTS games). However in the last 5 months my gaming has been made up of Rainbow 6: Vegas, Gears of War & Marvel: Alliance. Consoles have now become A LOT more like PC's with LIVE in particular being excellent and official content being made available for every game I own (albeit at a price).

I was kind of forced into becoming a X-Box gamer with the crappy ports of PC games I was looking forward to. Now that I'm back into console gaming after all these years I don't think I would go back, at least now until PC gaming picks up momentum like the good old days.

P.S Oh and if you have friends split screen gaming rocks! ;)
 
I used to be a massive pc gamer. But recently games that have came out just dont feel finished. I find myself playing on my 360 a lot more these days. I cant wait until Crysis comes out, but for the now pc games just dont seem like they used to be. They are all just ports from console.
 
I wouldn't hold your breath waiting on it being released late June either, I actually wouldn't be surprised if it was pulled completely, like GR2 was:(

PC gaming is not as good as Consoles IMO!
With a console you can just sit back and put your feet up! But with the pc you have to slump over a desk!

Why does a PC stop you putting your feet up, a PC doesnt need to be on a desk. Wireless mouse and keyboard... sorted.
 
Games aren't consistently smooth on the 360 at all - some of them are, but a lot have quite severe framerate issues at times. Games like Pro Evolution Soccer 6 have quite major dips in framerate - Rainbow Six Vegas has problems too.

All my games have been great frame rate wise, including Rainbow 6.

Try playing Quake 4 sometime, appalling slowdowns sometimes on the 360. And if you ever played GTA3 on a PS2 there's shocking framerate issues.

Console gaming doesn't guarantee decent framerates.
 
thankgod I am not the only one getting depressed at gaming on PC's atm :)

I mean I don't like playing RPG/RTS I like FPS because I like to just pick up and play.

I have too much to do without having to re-install, put everything at stock just to ensure a game works then only to find it was the game all along!

It is true though if games were released unfinished, buggy, poorly coded onto consoles like they are onto PC there would be hell to play!.... people would literally take em back to the shops and demand their money back! Kids would take em back, parents would take em back and chav's would hold em up at knife point :D!

I may get a XBOX360 hook it up to my TFT, get GRAW2 and see what happens.

The cost of XBOX360 is about the cost of a single main PC component, so all in all it does seem a bargain at £200 and I could easily sell it after woods if the grass is not much greener on the other side:)

Um and I care. Games recently on PC are a joke and I was wondering if the console side was any better now the XBOX360 is settled!

How am I the idiot? Why bother trolling? Are you really that bored?

You started a thread asking whether your PC spec was okay and then ask whether you should stick with XP or get VISTA :rolleyes: Like that question has not been asked a thousand times... its like me going onto your thread and asking you to change the title to 'xp or vista bore snore'!

I posted a thread last night because I was disapointed that GRAW2 was not released... then at the end I had a lil rant on my own thread :eek: which was in the the title too.

Just get a 360 and use both for gaming, its what i do. GRAW2 is great on 360, besides you can always sell the 360 version on later if it ever does get released on PC. Oh and yeah, XBL is great :)
 
Games work better on different systems. I felt Halo worked far better on the original Xbox than it did on the PC, but Half Life 2 worked miles better on the PC than it ever could on the Xbox. And i think the same will happen with Portal and TF2.

I didn't like GRAW1 on the PC cause it didn't feel right in first person, but it rocks on the 360. Will GRAW2 be an FPS on the PC or will it stay third person like the 360?
