Caustic soda eats grease. It basically turns it into soap, if you remember back to your GSCE Chemistry class. You can get it in pretty much any hardware store and in my opinion is probably THE most underrated cleaning chemical - it's what's in Mr Muscle and other strong oven cleaners but without the spray rubbish. Wear washing up gloves though because it'll also turn your fingerprints into soap.

Yes, but sulphuric acid is better, which is what's in the drain cleaner at B&Q.

The acid dissolves the hair which sometimes blocks drains.

Just had a look on the site and I think that's just liquid caustic soda. I zoomed in on the bottle and it says Sodium hydroxide on the danger label.
