Great Browser Game - Travian

Just joined the alliance, got my granny up to level 4.. Got a few other things built (wall etc) that I constructed before reading all the faqs...
I suggest people go and really read the FAQ before going to far, as you might waste resources/time on constructions that are not needed at the stage your at.

I also suggest that we done rush the growth of the alliance, getting to big too quick makes you an easy target.. Need to reinforce what weve got.

Sorry didnt notice reply before. I just assumed because in the manual it said.
"In the event of an attack on your village, a portion of the resources in the warehouse can be hidden in the cranny."

Viji just attacked me with 4 troops, my trapper caught all of them.

He is now suggesting I leave the OcUK alliance and join his, and promises me resources etc if I release his troops! LOL

Anyone able to raid him?

Pretty sure he only has a few macemen, rubbish in defence!

Would teach him a lesson!

To all in the OcUK alliance playing as Gauls, would highly recommend that after you build your cranny to level 6 or so, get a trapper to level 2 with 20 traps!

Just had a look at his alliance and it totals 4 people...still more than my alliance of 1 :(

I'm getting more into this now but my population is still only 30, anyone got any tips for a beginner?
 
Just noticed, Calanus is South East of me :)

Is the alliance full? I can't seem to accept my invite.

Also, any spare resources going? I'm at zilch right now but am working on upgrading all my fields etc to be a resource factory :D

Getting there slowly. Fishburton has a population of 28 so far and as soon as I get to 40 I'll be fishing for an invite to the alliance!
 
So I am currently aiming to get into OCUK alliance and then make some troops and conquer this guy near me who only has 10 population :).

Easy resources? :P
 
Sorry everybody, yes, the alliance is currently full. I shall try and add another level on some time tomorrow. However, I need to upgrade my wheat production before hand, so it won't be all that soon.

I shall prioritise the people with the higher populations, but don't worry, I am to get everybody in!
 
So, now we're in this great alliance, what happens now?

I've read through a few starter tutorials and examined the Building Tree, checked the Travian forums briefly, and put my stats in a Travian time calculator so far.

How long until we start adventuring out of our villiages and invading other peoples villiages, capturing oasis and such? :o

Also, Shouldnt we all be in the same area of the map? Molinari and myself have 3 people from the RuleRs alliance :eek: in our map area and they seem to know what they're doing. :( :confused:

Apparently the Guals are good in defense so I'll just hide in my cranny. :D
 
People seem to think that being in the alliance makes a difference, it doesn't really. The main thing is to keep building up until you get to the point where you can attack other people.

Congrats to Calanus who was the first person (besides me) to attack someone. Shame they missed the bit where I said not attack with less than 3 people because they did the same as me, attacked with one person, and lost that one guy.
 
I think that when we all get big enough we shoiuld send off settlers to the same area and make second citys next to each other. of course, only people who are ready for a second village should do that.

You are aware that getting a second village is a huge effort, only two people on the server have a second village. To get it everything, I would need to at least double my population. It'll take a loooong time.

EDIT: One option is to start an OcUK Wing Alliance for those just starting, and keeping the top people in the original one.

Why can't I build a Rally Point??
The manual says it can only be built in one spot in the middle of the village, but I think I may have put the marketplace there. No other spots allow me to build the Rally Point so what can I do??

Under attack again, my trapper is earning his money!

Caught all the attackers.

To those of you who are close to attacking other tribes, I recommend NOT attacking Gauls initially, trappers seem quite effective against early troops.

Macemen (the 1st unit that the Teutons get) are particularly weak in defence, so it may be wise to attack them 1st.
